Life changing

Goodbit on

I have been using Koala for over a year now and it has helped immensely. Not only do I know in the morning if I have had a bad bout snoring or not, but I know (according to my wife) that when I forget to turn it on before bed that I snore way more. For me, if I’m snoring it’s because I fell asleep on my back, and if I shift to my side I stop snoring. So the koala nap buzzes me without waking my wife up, and I roll over so quickly that I hardly remember in the morning. This app is literally saving my marriage.

This information is so valuable

I’m so thankful for this app. I have been monitoring my sleep and can clearly see what eases and what aggravates my snoring. Thank you Koala!

Not for heavy snorer

If you snore a lot, you get a notification each 2 minutes which makes your night a living hell… it sure works… essentially by preventing you from sleeping, thus, snoring. Sad I forgot to cancel on time cost me 40$ for nothing.

Snoring app that works

ringading Dan on

After searching for a snoring prevention app I finally found one that is easy to use and that does the job without disturbing your partner. The implementation of having your Apple Watch vibrate to get ones attention is a brilliant and simple method. Also if one wants to have Koala Nap be more blatant in getting ones attention when snoring It can be made to send a notification sound to get ones attention. The other plus side is that it tracks ones snoring and allows for a level of training on what is a snore and what is not. Overall it is a great app to help control ones snoring with minimal disruption of sleep. It is like a gentle reminder to rollover to stop snoring. One nice thing to add would be to put in a drop down or check boxes to say if you were very tired, just ate a large meal before bed, etc. This would help determine if one snores more based on some pre sleep condition. Also I would stress in the helps that the phone has to be at head level to work effectively.

Brilliant App

It does what it says it does. If I snore, it taps my wrist and I can shift without waking up much. I went from 100+ snores per night to a handful. I originally bought my Apple Watch because I saw an app that would vibrate if I snored. The vendor pulled it shortly after. It took 2 yrs of searching to find this app. It uses way less battery than the other vendor. This app focuses on helping train you not to snore. Highly recommend it.

It really works

Paradoxical on

I’ve tried everything, from inclining my bed, to nose strips, to taping my mouth shut (seriously), and nothing worked for me. I thought I slept reasonably well, but my partner didn’t. They couldn’t sleep because of my snoring. I already use my Apple Watch for tracking my sleep, so this little app is the perfect companion. I don’t remember being woken up, but my partner says that if I start snoring I stop almost right away. I’ve also seen clear improvement in my sleep stats that I was already tracking.

Happy wife, happy life!

My wife is a light sleeper these days, so I’ve been trying a few solutions to alleviate my snoring over the last few years. None of them worked. After reading an article about snoring in the papers last week, I had an great idea — why not create a watch app (I’m a software developer) that mimics my wife nudging me when I snore?!! I already use the watch timer app to wake me from my naps — so it should be possible. But first, doing a quick search on the App Store, I realized that I didn’t need to develop anything because Koala Nap already exists! I’ve been using Koala Nap on my Apple Ultra watch for the last 10 days with its default settings. It’s been detecting between 0 to 3 snoring episodes per night on average. Looking at the report, the watch feedback mechanism seems to do its job well, because all but one snoring episodes were stopped within 20 seconds. Only one episode lasted 5 minutes despite the watch vibration feedback — my wife actually woke up and provided greater feedback to stop the snoring ;-) Overall, I am very satisfied so far — happy wife, happy life!

An App that really works as it uses machine learning to help prevent snoring!

I tried many Apps to help with my intermitent snoring issue. Koala Nap is by far the best. The fact that it "gently" lets you know when you snore (with your AppleWatch) did help me almost stop snoring. I went from snoring 90 minutes per night to less than 1 minute... With many nights when I don't even snore.

Good app

rbg1975 on

I’ve been using the app for almost a week. The app has potential to be a great useful app, but falls short. I tried it using vibration only and it was not enough to correct my snoring….so I increased the sound and it seems to he working. However, turning up the sound interferes with my partner’s sleep which defeats the purpose of using the app. However, I am snoring less, so I am happy with the app and will continue using it
