I have tried to adjust the sensitivity multiple times but my husband goes to bed well before I do and I can be trying to go to sleep and be buzzed for his snoring. I’m sad because I believe it’s a great idea but it doesn’t distinguish a close snore from a loud snore.
Great app
I would like to share my satisfaction with the team that built this app, which not just help me controlling my snoring, but help me understanding how bad it was. It help me for a while, then I decided to give it a break, but my wife requested me to use it again, since that was the only way she could have a full good night of sleep!
Initially I had the free trial, then I paid for my full subscription and it was worthy every penny!
Thank you Koala Nap!
Miracle for our marriage
It’s been so frustrating for many years to have my snoring affect my wife’s ability to sleep. We’ve had to sleep in separate rooms. The Koala Nap app was a miracle for our marriage. I tried this app while on vacation and it had immediate success. It has been so successful that we now have twin beds in our primary bedroom, close to each other, and the snoring problem is 95% solved. What amazed me was that, at the beginning, the app sent tapping messages to my iphone watch on my wrist – A LOT of them (like hundreds per night). Surprisingly, however, this didn’t affect my getting a good night’s sleep. Essentially, the app created new habits for me to turn to my other side when I heard the tapping, and not to sleep on my back. Now, after quite a few months of use, my number of snore minutes in a 9 hours of sleep averages about 2 minutes! Because the app helped develop new habits, I can now sense when I’m breathing too loud or making an overt sound, or turned on my back – so I get far fewer taps because I’ve been happily “trained” in how not to snore. Last night (4-21-2024), the app showed that I slept for 9.5 hours, total time snored was 2 minutes, times snored was 35, and vibrations were 63. This morning, (4-22-24) the app showed 8.5 hours of sleep, time snored as 0, times snored as 14 and vibrations as 24. My wife is happy! So am I. This app is not perfect but mighty close. On occasion, the app decides to send repeated taps in the night, even when I’m awake and quiet. This doesn’t happen much, and I just reach over and just stop the app, since I know that the app’s training will kick in to control my snoring. I’m scoring it a 5 because it has created so much success for my marriage.
Used to wake up tired now I don’t
This is kind of a lifesaver for me. It helps me from annoying my wife while snoring but the best part is I wake up refreshed every day. Yeah do you behind it is great. It’s non-intrusive and easy to set up. It helps me wake up and stop snoring so I can adjust before it gets too loud. I haven’t woken my wife up in weeks.
Life saver for my wife
This app has been a life saver for my wife. Before Koala, my snoring would wake her and then she would nudge me to roll over, giving her temporary respite until the snoring started again. Now with Koala, I get a nudge from Koala to roll over before my snoring gets loud and frequent enough to wake her. Although I still snore, it never goes on long enough or gets loud enough to wake up my wife with me using Koala.
Great snoring solution
Bedtime routine is made better with Koala nap. At first I was a little confused how to adjust the settings, however once I got it, the Apple Watch vibration function does make a difference. For me as well as my partner! I also like have the read out every morning indicating how much I snored.
Fantastic app
Koala has changed my life. The watch vibrations wake me up enough to stop snoring, but I don’t remember waking up. My husband is thrilled, he was waking up to my snoring multiple times every night. I feel like I’m getting better quality sleep. I’ve recommended this app to everyone I know who snores. I’m so glad I found it.
Love the idea, but clumsy interface and NOT a free app
I wanted to give this a try, and was excited to believe briefly there was a free version with some options available for in-app purchase. I might even have given a paid app with a free trial a shot. But, there’s a big difference between “7 day free trial” (and then it stops working) and “7 days and then we charge you unless you remember to cancel.”
There’s NO hint of pricing on the app listing page. It wasn’t until I was ready to go to sleep and tapped Start that the app asked if I wanted to pay $30 or $5.
Before heading to head tonight, I had poked around the app this afternoon and kept landing on dead-end screens. Not even a back arrow or a Cancel or OK button to dismiss. This needs a lot of UI work.
I’m happy to pay for apps; I’ve paid for many. I’m happy to pay subscription fees or premium upgrades; I’ve done lots of that, too. But I’m going to be turned off by unclear marketing at the point of “sale” and a dunning dialog box at bedtime.
One Night
Worked really well for one night. I was super excited about it. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get it to work on my watch or even my phone since then. :/ bummer. Would subscribe if I could rely on it
KoalAddicted
I’m obsessed with Koala Nap. I’ve tried all manner of nose strips, mouth guards, tongue suction weirdness, and sleep aids and this app got my snoring average from 1-3 hours a night to 3-15 minutes a night. The first night I used it it actually woke me up a couple of times, but I realized it had notified me (with silent Apple Watch taps) 50+ times that I was snoring. After a week of use I don’t know if I’ve ever had better consistent sleep ever. If you snore and have sleep apnea, you should probably look into a sleep study and ultimately a CPAP machine, but Koala Nap has kept me from needing to sleep with a Darth Vader mask on. Life changer!!!
