I’m currently learning Japanese and this app sounded exactly what I was looking for—AI conversations with structure and review based on those conversations. A perfect tool for gaining comfort with speaking! Or so I thought. The reality is that the AI “personalities” often don’t load. And I have NEVER gotten the voice to text function to work. Not once. It might work if you want to type everything in, but who wants to do that on a phone? So, if you’re interested in this app, maybe avoid it for now, but check back in a few months to see if it’s actually working properly.
Perfect speaking practice at an affordable price. Definitely gonna snag the lifetime access when I can afford it.
I purchased yesterday Langotalk-AI for a year and it only worked for one session. Today I was unable to use it because it crashed all the time. I would restart my iPhone and it would crash again. This happened like 6 times in a row. So I feel cheated with this useless app. Couldn’t contest the charge anywhere and looks like the only thing I could do was cancel the service due on Nov 30th, 2025. Do not spend your hard earned money on this app. It is a total waste of money.
It’s unfortunate there is not a ton you can do without paying, but I mean I get it its a product… I feel like if I paid for it then I would really use it and get serious about actually learning lol so maybe one day
I am amazed how accurate and how this program literally teaches you what you said incorrect and how to say it, along with advice on how to improve. It’s really helpful if you are learning how to speak but do not have someone to practice with. Technology slowly replacing people, but it’s really helpful for what it is designed for.
This is a cool app if you ALREADY KNOW 1. Characters 2. How to form proper sentences 3. Know words 4. Are intermediate-fluent This app doesn’t teach any of the above. And you constantly have to self translate what the bot is writing.

honestly, i think this app is really unique and super helpful, especially for something like vietnamese which has very few useful resources. my main problem, though, is the price. $80 a year to talk to an AI chat bot??? I don’t think so… i was really excited while using one of the chat bots that i was able to ask to use specifically the southern accent, but i just can’t justify spending that much money on an AI based app. sorry not sorry 😭
