Amazing app

I completed a 1000 day streak on Duolingo in Italian, and couldn’t use any of it afterwards. This app is a far more interesting and natural way of learning (for me, anyway). Really enjoying it.

Great for Speaking, Bad for Quizzes

As someone who needs a lot of practice just speaking and reacting in Japanese, this has been a great tool at 1/100th of the cost for a tutor in the same space. Having said that, almost all the features I’ve used outside the chats have been fairly shallow and I wouldn’t recommend it if speaking isn’t your primary goal. I asked for a quiz focused on JLPT5 material and it gave me the same question three times, which was particularly disappointing as the questions themselves were crazy basic and won’t be much good for the exam (“What does 人 mean?”). But I still bought a year because there’s no better speaking alternative out there, so you’ll definitely get your money’s worth if you have the focus.

Deleted my account but payment was still taken

No functionality to cancel trial subscription on the app, only account deletion. One would imagine that deleting the account would also delete any financial information pertaining to that account but apparently not. I was still charged an annual subscription fee despite not having an active account!

Stingy

How do you expect to use this app? It's frustrating how the app constantly pressures you to make purchases. You cannot progress at all or have any access to any of the content beyond a certain point as it is impossible without buying. Clearly indicates the developers prioritize making money over user experience. That's why these kind of apps struggle to compete with the top ones. Really disappointed as I was looking forward to learning with it. The company spends so much money on false advertising but does not allow free users to benefit from any part of it.

iPad version doesn’t seem to work beyond the splash screen

Initial impressions on iPhone were quite good… but can’t get it to work on my iPad Pro

Revolutionary

The idea behind this app is amazing, and has completely changed the way I’m learning Spanish. There are a few minor bugs, but overall it doesn’t affect the app too much. The servers could be faster but in time I’m confident this app will be the most used language app

I like the app but so far very buggy

I recently have come across the issue of when I use the microphone to answer the questions in the chat it just fills in this phrase “thanks to all the students and people who helped me write this video” in Swedish. I have no clue why that’s happening as I’m saying very different sentences each time and it writes that almost every single time. It also keeps asking me to use the work for book in a sentence over and over again and I have to ask it to switch topics. I really like this app otherwise though so hope it gets fixed soon, especially the speech to text issue😅

Amazing app

This is a game changer. None of the other apps can you teach a language as good as this. It’s got a few kinks it needs to workout but the team on this app responded immediately, like within a minute, when I mentioned some issues. I tried some other AI language apps, but none are as good as this. This one has different topics set up already to start a chat, even the AI voices have the voices nailed, it doesn’t sound robotic. I highly recommend this app.

Looks like it needs a lot more development

Tried a few conversations, got v frustrated by the limited functionality on the free version so paid for 1 month to see if it was worth using. So far none of the bots answer at all - they think about it for a few seconds then nothing. Best get it fixed, please!

Free users barely get anything

The app does what it says it will do, but as someone who has tried many language apps, i don’t think I could move onto it fully as a free user. 5 messages a day for free users is not nearly enough to get a feel for the app and it’s intricacies in order to go on and pay for premium. By the time you get into the conversation, you have to stop and start again the next day.
