Don't be greedy!
We already payed an obscene amount of money for the camera. This kind of software should be basic accessory.
Pricing is hidden
If you google Leica photos 2.0 pricing there’s almost no information, not on Leica website for sure. As others have commented, 50$ might seem a little price compared to a Leica camera but one would expect that high price you pay with the cameras comes with an exclusive experience including a free app which allows the camera to do basic operations like transferring files.
Feels like a scam
Having to pay 50$ a year (DKK 429) seems like a little compared to the cost of my Q2 but it is yearly cost for basic functionality that was previously available. I feel cheated by Leica and consider changing to Fuji. Their app and firmware updates are generous improvements. Leica I now know can never be trusted not to remove functionality or charge endlessly to keep them.
I suddenly hate Leica
This is insane. I payed $7000 for my Leica m10. It came with a free app for downloading your photos to your iPhone. Now I can’t use the old app anymore and with this new Fotos app Leica now charge you $70 every year for downloading your photos. I don’t use it very often but sometimes I need to edit a quick photo on my phone for social media etc. I really hate you for this greedy step Leica. I will never buy another Leica in my life.
