Description

Lockdown blocks trackers and badware in all your apps, blocking an estimated 100 million trackers per month for over 300,000 people.
— Comprehensive Protection —
Lockdown has two privacy features: Firewall and Secure Tunnel VPN. Each feature protects you from different threats, creating the complete solution for protecting your personal data, browsing history, and sensitive connections.
FIREWALL — Blocks Hidden Trackers: The world's first on-device, open source blocker that stops ads, trackers, and badware in all your apps.
SECURE TUNNEL VPN — Keep Your Data and Browsing Private: It's the no-logs, blazing-fast, privacy-first VPN. The only VPN to prove its Privacy Policy and be fully audited.
— BASIC FIREWALL FEATURES —
- Simple, one-tap to get protected against thousands of trackers for most users
- Fully customizable blocking for advanced users: block any domain / service
- Works for all apps, not just the browser
- Useful preconfigured block lists that are updated every week
- Blocking works "on-device" meaning it does all of its blocking without sending all your data to a third party server, unlike other blocking apps

—ADVANCED FIREWALL FEATURES—
- Import and create your own custom lists
- Export your custom lists to share with others and save offline
- Block thousands more trackers
- Access to advanced curated lists and app specific block lists (e.g. TikTok, iFunny, Junes Journey)
— SECURE TUNNEL VPN FEATURES —
- Hide your location and unique IP address with one tap
- Keeps you safe on public wi-fi hotspots and sites
- Stops spying from snoopers and your ISP or cellular provider
- Ultrafast with over a dozen regions globally
— TRANSPARENCY YOU CAN TRUST —
- Other privacy apps lie on their Privacy Policy and secretly sell user data, even if they promise not to
- To solve this issue, the Openly Operated certification requires apps to *prove* their Privacy Policy
- Lockdown is Openly Operated certified with a public 38-page audit report, and audited multiple times by security professionals
- View full OpenAudit Report: https://openaudit.com/lockdownprivacy
— UNPARALLELED PRIVACY —
- Open Source: Since firewalls have access to *everything* you do, it's critical that any firewall you use should be open source. Lockdown is 100% open source.
- On-Device: Lockdown Firewall doesn’t connect to any servers. No logs of your browsing are sent to third parties or to our servers when using Lockdown Firewall.

Very nice app

Just really nice. Although it could be used to block ads in games but drains battery too fast. It would be better to stop consuming all our battery.

Don’t download

Draining Battery

Looking_for_a_nickname on

India

Seems to be draining battery perhaps after the latest update. For today I see 20% battery consumed by Lockdown. Battery died by evening instead of lasting till night. Will have to stop using this app.

Does not block ads anymore

Please_allow_this_nickname on

India

With more and more recent updates, a lot of blocking features that used to be free from the past few years have now moved to the paid tier, essentially limiting the amount of ads this blocks. Especially game ads, those are now displaying but they used to get blocked previously. Dev got greedy, if you wanted to make this a paid app, why have a good free tier and then slowly cripple it over months and years?

Do not download the app. I purchased the premium version but it's not working and the developer has failed to fix it from the last 3 months.

Battery Issue

Check battery consumption after using for few days. This app consumes lot of battery. Fix this or this app will become bad app. Users don’t want frequent charging due to this app.

A very good VPN tool but drains battery

Genious2k1 on

India

I have used other VPN tools before that are good but this one is better. The only downside that I find with it is, it causes battery drain. Their FAQ says that it is a bug with iOS but I do not agree with that. There is an actual difference in the battery life that I’ve been getting since I installed this app. From 2.5 - 3 days, it has come down to 1.5 - 2 days. A whole day’s worth of battery usage. That is significant and very visible in my opinion. If you fix this, yours would be the best app for sure. If not and you stick to your narrative of this being an iOS issue, then I’ll need to find a different tool for my use.

The King is dead, long live the King! RIP v1.6.1

EDIT : Instead of the ~$3/month or annual package that’s unjustly asymmetrical for the features offered I went ahead & bought AdGuardPro for $12 & that’s for Lifetime! Now I have DNS filtering with custom lists along with ad+cosmetic filtering with custom lists all for $12, forever! Result : Uninstalled Lockdown. Review : This was one of my favourite apps since more than a year. But oh how the mighty have fallen! Firstly Monetisation isn’t bad, it’s a necessity. What grinds my gears is the utterly greedy & hamfisted approach to it by the “possibly” new management team. Instead of adding new features under a paywall they have locked many of the older pre-existing lists to it. What’s more the custom domains painfully picked & added by us over time don’t work properly too & I suspect many domains are whitelisted by them that can be unlocked only after paying up. Way to screw up goodwill! The new app isn’t bugfree too - on device sleep/idle the wifi&tunnel go offline & I can clearly see it reconnecting on every wakeup. Battery consumption seems to have gone up too. Last stable version 1.6.1 was 10x better. Shame we can’t rollback as easily on iOS & we’re stuck with the steaming pile of crp they’ve forcibly served us. If I had known “upgrading” to v2.0 would have brought me such grief believe me I wouldn’t have touched it with a 6 feet pole! One very interesting discussion on their github regarding these policy changes & potential fork coming up was immediately locked & closed with the reason “off-topic”. That says it all. I earnestly hope a free & better fork comes out soon.

This app is an example of what happens with greedy orgs

Sai3690 on

All the basic tracking with local firewall options has gone behind a paywall all of sudden. All the google Facebook and Snapchat trackers are now behind a pay wall. Sad way to send off an app.

Showed their true colors now

Ajay SK on

India

I used to love this app. One of its main uses was blocking Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and Google trackers. Now with the latest update they halve put these blockers behind a pay wall. What used to be a free service is now paid. The free version offers very little tracker blocking to the point where it’s useless in having this app installed.
