The game which rules are a bit difficult to understand from the beginning. But once you did it, this game will absorb you. The gameplay is deep and multifaceted. The number of decks is endless. This game makes you think.
Not very convenient interface
I tried this game because I loved MTG in real life. Despite too fast progress and a lot of information (you can’t really understand all the match types, different decks their constraints etc) I still played this game for several days. But then I realised the amount of unbalanced cards. Especially the ones which let you win the game in an instant So if you want to play just to win every match - choose imba cards and create decks with 2-3 playable cards Actually the only reason I played for so long LotR cards PS. I’m not talking about optimisation, although I think it’s really bad, because this game works slow on all my devices and crash sometimes
In downloads between batches, you can sometimes see "this game is for everyone." Not anymore. Previously, this game could be played in 11 languages, and even earlier in 15. Now not everyone can play it. Only native speakers of 6 languages, according to Wizards, deserve to play their games.
Both me and my partner have been trying to play this game on our respective phones for over an hour and have barely made it past part three and four in the tutorial. Laggy game moves for both you and the opponent, cards stacking on top of each other without being able to see any information, pieces meshing into one another, and just all around disappointing. We are new to the MTG world and had hopes of learning through this app as it was recommended by others. Sad to say that this is not what we hoped for.
I just downloaded this and the intro tutorials crash after the 3rd match and then the app sits at loading screen whenever you try to restart it. The tutorial challenge UI bugs out after a few hands have been played and it becomes impossible to select anything on the screen. Absolute trash.
Unable to pass the tutorial. Try to play cards and they get stuck graphically in the middle of the screen, not on the battlefield. Scenarios try to continue going but you are unable to target the creature that the tutorial is trying to force you to target, game glitches out and you lose. Small indie company, but still.
They have the worst rng for card draw and unbalanced gameplay you will get mana flooded or mana screwed 7 out of 10 games
I will say that I did have issues getting through the tutorial Doodoo server or lag issues I don’t know. But once I got through to that and most of the options in the game opened up, I’ve had zero issues. I’ve been playing on a iPhone 15 Pro Max and an M4 iPad Pro with no issues since the tutorial I mentioned. Also, yes, if you want to have good decks from the very start, you will need to spend money. Whether that be buying one of the physical sets that they have in stores that come with arena codes or buying one of the mini bundles they have for new players to begin collecting cards. They give you numerous starter decks to choose from and use as much as you like and also I got to open numerous card packs from many expansions once I completed the tutorial for free. I’m not saying the game is perfect, but if you are looking for a good dense fun card game to play I would choose this over many of the alternatives.
