Marco Polo - Video Messenger

Our family enjoys sending little videos to each other and sharing what we are doing. It is awesome for those living far away to share each others moments with one another!!

Pushy on buying premium features (not gonna happen). Also, it’s either all or nothing on notification. If I leave them on, I get content reminders like “You haven’t chatted with…” No way to turn that off and still keep notification for when someone actually sends a video. It was frustrating enough when you sold out your long-term users years ago and made all of the free features suddenly premium. Greedy.

This app refuses to send the text verification code to actually instal and use it. I’ve even tried uninstalling and reinstalling, as well as power cycling. 🙄

It is a very nice app and it has been so easy to communicate with people and I also think that you should download it to it’s free but cost money to get an up grade

Mixed feelings: I’ve been using this app for years. It’s been a great way to keep up with long-distance family and friends. The video quality is generally bad (although it’s made some improvements over the years). It never mattered too much because the features were cute and handy and the ability to communicate with people at your own leasure made up for it. The past couple of years, though, it went from free to a paid app. There’s still a free version, but all of the features you were used to were taken away from you. Sometimes they come back, and then disappear again. The paid version went from expensive, but almost worth it, to now almost $120 for the year? To be paid all at once. OR $19.99 a month? It just feels really greedy. I’m not under-valuing what someone brings to the table, and I don’t want everything in life for free. If this was a monthly paid app that was under $5 a month, absolutely I would see the value in that for what you’re getting. But I think they either massively over-estimate the value of MP Plus features, or know that people enjoy the app and plenty of folks will just go ahead and pay that to enjoy what they’re used to. 3/5 stars. Good, enjoyable app. Don’t expect great video quality. Not worth the $$$ subscription.

The new Seconds feature is stupid. Don’t make me waste time watching worthless 2 second videos. Stop sending me notifications of seconds from people that I’m not even friends with in Marco Polo! It’s super annoying, and it may result in me deleting my account altogether. Too much noise, not enough customization!

Marco Polo will now send notifications that you have a “missed message” except that you don’t. You don’t have a new message. And you haven’t missed any. But it will still send random notifications. It is infuriating.
