Subscription renewal

Calum Doon on

I subscribed a couple of years ago but stopped using the service after a while. Recently they’ve taken payment from my bank as an auto renewal but without sending me a reminder or advising that the price had increased. They refuse to refund me after I told them I didn’t want to renew. To make matters worse I’ve logged in for the first time in a year and can’t view any content. It seems I have no active subscription according to the app. I’m getting no response fro customer support.

Opera subtitles don’t work

JP Cavanagh on

The app was not much use as I wanted primarily to watch opera and the subtitles don’t work on the iPad or Apple TV. Support are slow to respond and seemingly uninterested in resolving my issue.

Impossible to sign up

Londoner on

Looks good but I never receive the sign up confirmation

Can’t cancel subscription

NiftyGnouf on

I’ve tried to cancel my subscription, but I can’t log in to my account, it just says I have to change my password, but I can’t as it keeps saying the sever isn’t found.

Tricky People.

PT The Mac User. on

After my subscription ended they invited me to renew at half price. When I excepted they took the money ( £49 ) from my account but never reactivated me. ….. I’ve emailed support many times but they never respond.

Famous opera and theatre accessible to all

David McCabe on

For a fair price this app makes lots of famous opera and theatre accessible to people, like me, who have never watched an opera.

Good content; pity about the app

Alanwh59 on

The one star rating is for the app, not the underlying service. This service ought to be an out and out winner: there is a lot of mainstream World famous material on the platform as well as a lot of lesser known works, venues and performers. It gives good results if you can stream to your TV from the Web using a computer. As others have said, Chromecast is not a good solution, and Marquee acknowledges that on its website. So you will need the relevant adapters and connecters to get the signal into your TV. I have also tried to watch Marquee on the iPhone/iPad app. It was a shambles. The app locks up; it will download items but not play them; it’s just about impossible to match the picture to the TV screen; and it’s a matter of chance whether you can get subtitles to display in opera. This is not a failure in my setup. It will play Glyndebourne from YouTube, and the Royal Opera from the ROH site or in BBC iPlayer, using apps on iPad or iPhone. For whatever reason, the Marquee app simply does not deliver. And worse, I have to restart the device to get the app to stop. The troubleshooting section of the Marquee website offers no help on this problem with the app. So I am going to continue to use the service but only over the web and my laptop.
