Card-based roguelike

Description

Meteorfall is a deck-building roguelike. You'll choose your class from one of four unique adventurers, and then set out with a deck consisting of some basic attack cards. During the course of your adventure, you'll be presented with the opportunity to add powerful new cards to your deck.
No adventure would be complete without slaying a few monsters that get in your way. In battle, you'll draw cards from your ability deck. Each time you draw a card, you'll be able to swipe right to play the card, or swipe left to skip a turn and regain some stamina.
Between battles, you'll venture through a variety of locations, represented by an encounter deck. You'll encounter blacksmiths that can upgrade your cards, temples that can help you optimize your deck, and mysterious characters that will make you all sorts of bargains.
The tactical strategy of combat micro-decisions mixed with the strategic element of deck-building provides a compelling and deep gameplay experience.
As with all roguelikes, death is permanent. You'll earn some gems that you can use to unlock new cards, but it's back to the drawing board after that. Start out with a new adventurer and set out on your quest once again.
The good news is that Meteorfall is different every time you play - you'll encounter different locations, different enemies, and different quests. Part of the challenge is adapting to the challenging situations the game puts you in, given the cards available.
Good luck hero - it's time to end the Uberlich's cycle of destruction!

Meteorfall Reviews

Perfectly fine

This game is basically Peter Whalen’s “Dream Quest” with a bit more content, sfx, and a better gui - and this isn’t a bad thing.

Cut art but I find the gameplay mind numbing not engaging.

Tip

Love the game just think it can get a bit boring so maybe make it more of a choose your own adventure type game. Answering the yes or no questions don’t have a impact in the ending so maybe make it more free. Amazing game though!

Great game but...

Fun and very nice UX design for mobile. Good sound design and easy one hand control. But it supports only English and Chinese. More language support would be nice (ex: French, German, Korean, Japanese...)

Fun

Fun Takes too long (too many playthroughs) to unlock alternate skins (even playing with higher multipliers). Also cloud save deletes all unlocks upon re-install :(

Null Error when starting

Just bought the game and I get a null error, the screen darkens and a ton of red text overflows. The game appears to work in the background but can hardly see it. Hope an update comes out real fast to fix it - I can’t rate the game as I am unable to play. iPad Pro. 9.5

Perfect, a mobile classic

Love this game, have been playing regularly for over a year. It’s an engrossing card builder built on straightforward rules and a simple swipe input mechanic, simple and easy to pick up but challenging and rewarding with moderately complex card interactions. The daily challenges were a great addition too. The near perfect mobile game, highly recommended.

I love this game

Really fun to play. Though there is a bug with poison potion that it takes time away even if you skip

Great Mobile Game

Love this game. I’ve spent a few hours playing it now and I can say that if you love deck builders then you’ll love this. It’s perfect for a bus or any time you have time to kill.
