Hold the Moon in your hands. Moon Globe HD turns your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad into a precision instrument for viewing Earth's Moon. Satellite imagery and topographic laser altimeter data are combined to render the Moon with realistic lighting in realtime 3D.

Use the multitouch screen to manipulate the view. Spin above the surface, or switch to Telescope mode to see the Moon as it appears from your location on Earth. Adjust the display time and watch the sunlight shift over the lunar landscape. A "tag cloud" floats just above the surface, labeling terrain features and spacecraft; touch any label to find out more about that feature. Moon Globe also shows you where the Moon and Sun are in the sky with its dynamic sky compass.

PLEASE NOTE: Regular Moon Globe is a smaller download and is free. This HD version has slightly, not extremely, better resolution.

Super zur Orientierung und Information

Die App ist super einfach und klasse zur Orientierung auf dem Mond. Nie wieder verlaufen 😊

Ein Traum!

Nutze die App am SCT, hierfür ist die Möglichkeit zur gespiegelten Darstellung perfekt zum Zuordnen und Vergleichen der Karte mit dem Teleskopbild. Sehr gut auch die Darstellung der Kraternamen, mit Möglichkeit der Anzeige weiterer Infos wie z.B. deren Größe. Mit einfachem Tippen können die Bezeichnungen an- und ausgestellt werden. Dann ist der Blick frei auf die detaillierte Mondlandschaft: Einzoomen und darüber hinweg gleiten, einfach nur traumhaft!

Great for Moon photographers with telescope

One feature would be great: Being able to adjust the „darkness“ of the dark side of the moon. In reality, the transition from light to dark at the terminator is faster and steeper than here in the app.

Sehr praktisch, mit kleiner Einschränkung

Eine tolle App, vor allem zur Vorbereitung einer Beobachtung am Teleskop. Ich nutze sie schon seit ein paar Jahren. Die Zone des Zwielichts ist allerdings etwas breit geraten, der echte Terminator auf dem Mond ist deutlich schärfer begrenzt. Dadurch zeigt die App in diesem Bereich viele Strukturen, die im Teleskop nicht zu sehen sind. Wenn man das einstellen könnte, wäre sie perfekt.

Einfach schön und praktisch

Wer gerne den Mond fotografieren möchte und auch gerne mal bestimmte Krater und Ebenen dabei ins Visier nehmen mag, bekommt hier eine wirklich tolle Vorschau. Eine gute Alternative zu den vielen Mondkarten und Büchern.
