MUBI: Stream Great Cinema

There’s a lot of great discoveries here. This is where film buffs go become cinephiles and where cinephiles become filmmakers and where film is art and not an industry produced sequel slob. Really recommend anything Japanese or European, especially wim wenders and toyko sonata

This is a great service. No doubt about it. Opened me up to films I would have never seen and have really liked. My only complaint is that in Australia it feels like we have a really watered down version. I see the films MUBI advertise as being on offer on their instagram and they look great, some bigger titles. But never on offer in Aus… Still love it.

I got the app and a free trail. All the movies that they advertised were on the platform were not available. I found a movie I wanted to see, got 30 minutes in, and when I tried to rewind 10 seconds it started from the beginning again with no option to go back to where I was. I’m confused if my iPhone is the only one with these problems, but ultimately I was incredibly disappointed, and I’ve now canceled my subscription with no way to finish the movie I started. If someone has an explanation that would be greatly appreciated.

I signed up MUBI expecting Wim Wenders Perfect Days and other movies in the promo and linked page to be available and no indication when they might return. Almost none were available. As well, the search facility is not very good. Definitely needs a ‘genre’ category. Very disappointed.

A visually compelling masterpiece.

Brilliant collection of films - eclectic and at the same time from a broad repertoire of genre. Such a treat choosing the film to watch each week. All the films I have seen have stayed with me long after watching them.

Real films about real people, or real imagination. So good to escape Hollywood escapism and go to another place.

I’ve always wanted to get into Indi films but never knew where to start and of course I could look to the internet but whose opinion to trust. MUBI has become that trusted source for me, thank you for this
