MVG Fahrinfo München Reviews

Very bad.

Crossbow 14 on

Possibly the most convoluted travel app on the store. You pick departure and arrival stations and the you are presented with an endless list of zones to pick from. I wonder how many people pick the wrong ticket. No Apple Pay and no Sign In with Apple complete the painful experience. My advice? Use the ticket machine.

Poor “modernisation”

J7mbo on

United Kingdom

20 seconds+ ticket purchase time. Doesn’t work randomly. You’ll get logged out randomly. There are times you cannot even choose the station you are departing from as there are constantly no results when searching!! They’ve tried to modernise the app in the latest update. They’ve failed miserably - purchasing a ticket is at least five times as slow as the previous version, the app doesn’t really function any better. Spent a tonne of money on contractors and gotten a poorly performing app that probably uses event sourcing or something else over-engineered in the backend to provide a very slow and poor UX.

"An error occurred"

Damien 2020 on

How they managed to make one of the worst apps I've ever had misery to use EVEN WORSE is beyond me. Now instead of receiving the message ""An error occurred" only 50% of the time, with the November 2019 App "update" they've increased this to 90% Well done MVG! HOW ABOUT GETTING A PROFESSIONAL APP DEVELOPMENT TEAM TO DESIGN YOUR APP?

Gut - könnte besser sein

Jodlahuti on

Terrible app

Jason in Windsor on

This is a terrible app. When registering, the app mandates you provide way too much detail and then keeps crashing when you need to enter your date of birth. The developers clearly have not tested this app with users and have not understood the hoops you need to jump through just to buy a ticket.

FaceID implementation on iPhone X Urgently needs to be fixed

Bristowp on

United Kingdom

I used the app to check for the next departure from the nearest station. Then I set off for the station in a hurry. I took a look at my phone, the screen was on and it was waiting for Face ID. Before I knew it, it had bought a three day ticket that I didn’t need and charged €16.80 direct to my bank account. Checking afterwards I discovered that 4 consecutive taps ON THE SAME AREA OF THE SCREEN, will result in this purchase, then all you need to do is look at your phone and they’ve taken your money... To my pleasant surprise, when I complained about this they, exceptionally, refunded my payment. That honest response very much improved my opinion of MVG’s services. Still the app needs fixing, I doubt that everyone will be as fortunate as me (and anyway you don’t want to have to spend time writing for your money back). For now I have disabled faceid on the app, but that’s a shame because in some scenarios it’s very convenient. It wouldn’t be difficult to retain the convenience while removing the risk of a false purchase. I added another star because they resisted the temptation to add advertising banners (unbelievably some other public transport apps do that).

Super nice

Works like a charm. Easy to use and for those who lack creativity or postcode use 000000 for your postcode ;).

Needs simplifying

Zalamander1 on

This app is desperately crying for a clean up. There's just too much going on - the developers are trying to put everything & the kitchen sink into it. Buying tickets is a pain since if u don't know what zones ur traveling in, u have to keep switching from the maps to the ticket tabs. Why can't I just enter a start and end point and let the app determine the zones and price? What's the point in computers if they can't carry out these simplest of tasks for me?

HandyTicket system unusable for UK residents!

Audiobook Junkie UK on

United Kingdom

The HandyTicket system would be such a nice idea, but it makes some silly assumptions, the worst of which is that a postcode consist only of numbers. To buy a HandyTicket you need to register your personal details, and postcode is a required field. But while the ticket buying interface has been - somewhat clumsily - translated into English, assumptions about address formats mean if your address is in the UK (or indeed Canadians, and probably others), it won't accept your address and you can't even attempt to put in your credit card details to pay for tickets. It requires the postcode field, so if you're from a country like Ireland, which doesn't have post codes you're out of luck too. And those parts of the app that you can still use without registering your personal details have not been translated into English, so good luck figuring out how is all works unless you've got pretty good German! So overall - quite a mess!

Passbook?

Daniyyel on

This is a great app. It’s well designed and very useful. The only thing I would like to see in a future update is Passbook integration for mobile tickets.
