MVG Fahrinfo München Reviews
Problem with credit card info
App worked fine to look up travel info. However, when I wanted to purchase a ticket, it links to a sep website to enter cc info. When entering the US address of my cc, it insisted on appending the 5 digits zip code with only parts of the plus-4 zip. My cc was then rejected presumably because the zip didn’t match. I tried multiple times but couldn’t get it to work. There seems to be a coding error in the website.
Worked well, easy to buy rickets
As a visitor I was absolutely impressed with this App. Easy directions and one-click to buy the corresponding day ticket.
Total dissaster
What is that? Nothing, I mean nothing works. My wife is using this app every single day and at the the very basic functionality stopped working, so she can't buy her ticket. I have tried it on my phone and I was not able to log in or add my credit card! Please fix it now!
Woefully insufficient
You trust that it’s showing you the fastest route, but it’s not - even if the trains were on schedule. It’s absurd that the app doesn’t show the bus schedule or the routes, so that I can plan accordingly myself.
For example, I thought that I could take any S-train to Pasing and then take the 265 in the other direction - the app only tells me to take the S6 to Planegg, which you have to wait for, then take the 265...which you have to wait for. When I did get to Pasing, sure enough, that alternative route finally showed up, but it was too late to catch the bus. So I will be late to my first day on the job!
Not able to registry
I can’t go forward on registration. Not able to pass without the birthday info. But, once I touch on it, app crashes.
Times are not accurate
We were unfamiliar with the area and the app allowed us to get around but not without effort. The biggest issue was the train schedule was not accurate. We almost missed our bus out of Munich because the train schedule was off 45 minutes.
Google Maps is more accurate
MVG gives the most convoluted route. It does NOT handle SBahn routes well. Usually suggests circling back to HBF for some reason. I would NOT recommend to visitors unfamiliar with the network.
Wasted money for poor purchasing design
The app, at least the English version, has very little and confusing information. That led me to buy a multiple journey ticket without understanding that the first trip was used immediately. That does not make much sense, I just wanted to have a multiple trip ticket available for future use, as it happens when you buy it from a machine. Contacted customer service and they did not care at all, just pointing out it was my mistake. Not what I'm used to expect from customer service of other apps. Very negative experience.
