Did you just update the app? About 2 days ago my Apple Watch stopped working with this app. Frustrating!!
Slow and clunky. Why can’t my phone be my key like on our Tesla. Relying on a data connection to unlock the car is slow and unreliable.
Very slow to update
I am overall pleased with the app. I’ve used Mercedes’s and BMW’s equalivents. But one thing in this app is maddening - and it’s really unnecessary- when you lock or unlock your car, a great deal of confusion is caused when you shortly want to do it again. Eg. This morning I unlocked the car with the app, then wanted to re-lock it. The damn buttons had vanished. I’ve had this before in this app and went hunting all over the app to try to find them. Why make them vanished once used? WHAT is that for? The lock/unlock buttons disappear from the Home Screen once you’ve used them once. There is no need for this! It’s as if some developer doesn’t eat their own cooking. No one of the pimply faced people who wrote this tried actually using that function as a person in the real world does. (Rant over now). To lock the car I shut down the app (fully) then opened it again and there were the buttons, again. App developer- sort this out please and issue the new version with the buttons staying put! Thank you. Otherwise, I am glad to have the app, and have used it quite a few times and been happy with iy.
Speedo out by 6% too fast. Struggling to get over 400 km range?
A couple of years ago the app used to be sort-of ok. It wasn’t great but worked most of the time and it was useful for checking the battery level in our e-tron, and changing the charge level. Then someone had the bright idea of completely redesigning the app. It hasn’t worked for months, last time it was able to contact the vehicle was April - 5 months ago. It’s completely useless
The MyAudi app is living proof that Audi’s engineers should stick to hardware rather than fooling around with software. It’s basically the worst app you’ll ever make the mistake of installing on your phone. We’ve attempted to use this benighted piece of junk for nearly three years and goodness knows how many revisions of its entirely chaotic user interface. Irrespective of how many updates we’ve loaded, or the number of times the phone and the app have been restarted, they all have one thing in common: they don’t work. The app struggles to communicate with the car. Most days, you’ll wait minutes before finally getting an error message of “vehicle status could not be retrieved” and an incomprehensible hexadecimal string for an error message. This is infinitely repeatable and living proof that entry-level TCP/IP communication is well beyond the pay grade of Audi’s software “engineers”. On odd occasion, a miracle will occur and the app will sync with your car - hosanna! However, the process will take so long it will have been quicker and easier to simply walk to the car and take a look at the dashboard - even if it was parked two postcodes away. Audi make lovely cars. And the worst phone apps you’ve ever experienced. Instead of loading MyAudi onto your phone, go out to your lovely new Audi and slam your hand in the car door - I promise you. it will be much more enjoyable.
I question why Audi would even bother. This is an app for apps sake and of no use whatsoever- just clutter for the phone. Do yourself a favour and don’t waste your time downloading. I NEVER use it!!
Compared to the Tesla app this is ridiculously complicated Charging programming is difficult.
