Lacking Updates more Frequently

PhatManDiamo on

This app lacks being updated more than it needs to be. It not right we have to keep old iPhones and older Os’s. Luck if it updates once a year. This is not exceptable. Medtronic’s IT is lacking compared to real world times. Many smaller companies stay up to date with latest hardware and software. Why can’t a huge company like Medtronic do the same. As an Apple tester i am forced to use the latest. Even mom and pop’s can keep up. When will this run on iPhone 15s and iOS 18. I was forced to go out and buy an old phone running old Os to keep track. Come on Medtronic.

If you have a pacemaker definitely use. I got my pacemaker when I was 11 (I’ve had more pacemakers put in) and me and my doctors love it. Definitely recommend

Infrequently updated and basic

neon marlin on

United States

The app seems to get things done generally and it’s convenient to forgo a home monitor, however, the interface is quite basic and doesn’t seem to integrate with apple health. It doesn’t look like this app gets updated often which is a concern considering iOS 18 will be out in a few months and it’s not clear that the app will be compatible with it.

Does not update even if app is currently active on unlocked iPhone

iPhone 15 pro iOS 17.5.1. Phone is 3-4 feet away when I sleep, and is charging. If I wake up and check the app, last update is typically 3+ hours. Ok, I don’t know communication range. Although sometimes it HAS updated since I last lay down. But I really don’t understand why it won’t attempt to update while the phone is unlocked and open and very likely to be in my hand. I.e. in range. It just sits there making the “communication bar” go back and forth. I can sit up like that for 10 minutes. Why isn’t it making an attempt while it’s the “top” app and there is significant time since last update? I will force quit and restart it. Also there is one other health app I’ll force quit; it’s a CGM that I think is using near-field comm, not Bluetooth. After faffing around for a while, I may be rewarded with an Heart update. Much of the day, I carry the phone in my shirt pocket, and I think when I check there has been a recent update. Sometimes it’s on a table next to my (overused) chair. I just think that if the app can be informed of movement and/or being on the screen. It should take advantage of that.

Worthless

Implantable Loop Recorder: it shows you nothing. You don’t see your vitals, reports, nothing. What’s the point of spending all this money and I can’t see what’s happening? The app doesn’t provide “physical activity” or “vitals tracking”. Their rep just set it up and didn’t explain anything to me. She just left the room. Honestly I don’t even know if it’s working. Why did I have this procedure? Why am I in pain and bleeding and can’t even use the app the way it should be used? What is the point of this? I could’ve just bought an Apple Watch and I’d have way more information. Pointless. Wish I could get a refund from the hospital.

Can't record symptoms

thekirks4 on

United States

I've been using this app since my insertable cardiac monitor was implanted in August 2022. Now in March 2023, the app no longer allows me to record symptoms. The button that was once blue is now grayed out. Part of having this monitor is to report when I'm symptomatic. Medtronic is not open on weekends for support. What is the point?

Watch app!

Would love it if you could develop a Apple watch app! So we could just look at our watch to make sure there app is working and connected! Thank you!

Does not disclose what it tracks

Ann gut on

Prior to my pacemaker being install, I was told I would need a new app to remote monitor. The Medtronic representative did not know much about the app. And you could not preview the app prior to connecting it to your new pacemaker. I would not have gotten this pacemaker. Had I known how intrusive this app is. It tracks your physical activity without permission nor did the Metronic phone rep know exactly what they have other than the number of steps you taken a day based on your phone. So do they know where I've been? Do they know where my phones been are they tracking me through the pacemaker and just not saying it? Ask permission to your location. It does not ask permission to connect to your health app. Apparently there is no way to turn off the physical activity portion to the app. It's a gross invasion of privacy. And it's not like any of this is disclosed. There is no way to know what information it is harvesting off your pacemaker or phone. Also there is no way to turn any of the features off. Spoke with another rep: they have no clue how or what data is being collected... they don't feel like they have to disclose what they are tracking. Switched to the bedside monitor. Delete app and attempt to find out what data my pacemaker is collecting for free

Fails To Connect

KRL146 on

United States

The app found the pacemaker and registered it without any problems. That was the last time it worked. Since then every time we attempt to use it we get an error that the system is unavailable and to try later. We were told by the staff who walked us through the installation that my husband could install the app on his iPhone in addition to it being on mine. He gets the same error attempting to log in to the account that was created for my use.
