MyGearVault is a FREE app designed to help photographers and videographers from professionals, to amateurs, to even hobbyists, know what they have and what it’s worth.

Quickly and securely input all of your gear into your personal vault. We’ve made it easy for you to store all the important information about your gear. Store and verify your serial number, picture of your receipt, date purchased and much more. Even if your item doesn’t have a serial number ,you can still add it to your vault.

We know you have a lot of gear, that’s why we help you organize it in a few unique and effective ways. First, each item can be saved into a specific category (i.e. Cameras, Lens, Computers, Data Storage, etc.). When you click on a category, you will see the total value of items based on the gear inside. Secondly, you can create custom kits of gear, like a wedding kit, travel kit, studio kit, video kit and more. This is a great way to know the value of gear you’re taking with you.

Protect your gear. Get piece of mind that your gear has a level of protection when it’s stored inside your vault. For example, if your camera is stolen, simply click the “stolen” button inside the app and your serial number will be entered into our stolen database. If someone tries to verify your lens as their own, we will be notified.

Write down your camera great info elsewhere.

Good app

Love the app and your YouTube chanel. Will there ever be ap pc version of this app. This would be even better.

Cool concept, lacking execution

The search function seems broken, if I can’t quickly add my camera (Lumix BGH-1) then I probably won’t have any luck adding more obscure accessories or vintage lenses. The mandatory login is ok in concept, but what good is it if I can’t sync to desktop? If I lose my phone I want to access that data elsewhere. As of this time, there’s no reason to use this over a spreadsheet saved to Google drive with receipts in the same folder, which accessible and editable across all platforms. It’s also US-centric, which isn’t surprising, but further limits its usefulness.

Good app, but missing some important features

its a great app, and a great idea. But its missing some essential features for me to use it. Please add them if you can :) - A scanner option. (a way to san bar codes or QR codes with the phone) - A way to check items in and out. So when I leave my house, I scan everything i’m bringing. And scan them again after the shoot to make sure I have everything. - A way to import the gear list I already have from a spreadsheet. - A desktop app/web version of the app (sometimes, its just easier to work from a computer) With these features, it would be the perfect app! Incredibly frustrating search menus

Do you own anything other than a Canon? Yes? Well that sucks because good luck finding any of your equipment on the list provided. I’ve never had such a hard time finding my very common photo and video gear on a list. Honestly this app does not work for me at all, I spend more time searching/ manually entering my gear than I do actually organizing my kits.

Filters have to be added every time

Trying to add my Nikon Lenses. I filter Lenses and Nikon. Select my first lens. Click add more gear - and the filters disappear! Poor design.

Perfect app to store all my gear.

Would love to see Canadian the insurance info added. Best app for what I need. Love the YouTube channel and all the emails.

Amazing App for Photographers

I never write reviews but this is a great one and I want to support Jared. This app is amazing! It looks extremely slick and modern and it’s so easy to use. I love using it to keep track of my current kit AND the various dream kits I would like to buy in the future. I also use it to build various similar kits and compare how much each one costs, to ultimately figure out which one makes the most sense financially. Please continue to develop this app and make it better and better! A small feature request: it would be great if you can include some images when the user is creating a new kit. I don’t have any photos I want to use as the kit picture so i always have to just cover the camera with something and use a black photo. It would have been better if there are some stock photos in the app for me to choose (like the ones used for the default kits).

Insurance available for US resident only

This is a great app but would be a lot more better if insurance would be available for other countries like Canada.

Not bad

The app itself is good and does exactly what it says it does. A nice and easy convenience to have all your gear info at your fingertips should you ever need it. Recommended.
