Terrible! Bring back the older version!
I hate this new version. You only see pictures - not the list of news stories which makes it impossible to find a topic you're looking for. This used to be my number 1 place to get news but I won't use this new version anymore. It's only about 5 stories running over and over and not on topics that interest me. I'm looking for serious news, not these fluff stories They could at least break it down by topic (US, World, Entertainment, etc) and give more articles like before. It would be better than the limited selection of un-newsworthy junk stories that they show now

App needs some work, but the news coverage is great!
Please give us dark mode, filter news notifications by topics, and please stop pausing my music when I open the app.

News Now Ruins Everything
The inability to stop NBC News Now from running when you open this app and stopping any other audio you have going has ruined this app for me. It makes it essentially unusable as I cannot open it and read the news while listening to music because it stops the music and autoplays NBC News Now and there is absolutely no way to turn this off. Please make it stop.
Battery hog!
Avid user for quite some time. However, one of the recent updates enabled auto play of NBC News Now videos plus automatic background audio when minimized. The problem with this is, if you minimize the app and don't notice the audio is playing in the background it will continue to stream and drain your battery. I have noticed the app doing this on both my iPhone 15 Pro and my iPad M4 Pro. The app should provide a visual indication and ask if I want to continue to stream the audio when minimizing. And there needs to be an option to completely disable this functionality. Please fix asap!
