NBC News: Breaking & US News

The huge joy of this app was to have one easy place to catch up and watch daily clips of the best presenters. Now the dedicated sections for the extraordinarily inspiring Rachel, Lawrence, Ari, Nicole, Stephanie, Chris, Jen… have all been removed from the video section. Oh no!!! They are the best assets the NBC News has and their section have been removed. It could be any other news app. Why remove your uniqueness from it? Please bring them back and add Velshi and Alex too. No need for the app without their sections on it. Back to YouTube. That doesn’t keep your audience in your app. I still love the health section of the news page. Brilliant articles!

No sound through iphone speakers.

Yes, I can still read articles… but, the audio from videos doesn’t come out through the speakers on my iPhone 11. Yes, the audio is turned up! I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled and it still does it. The boy way I can hear the audio is by connecting the iPhone to a HomePod.

When the latest update installed a week ago I now have no sound. Love the app, just can’t hear anything now.

I’ve had this app for years. The latest update asked me for my zip code, which it then told me was invalid. I tried entering it several times, made sure there weren’t any extraneous spaces or characters, but no luck. Sadly had to delete this one. Oh well.

I decided to give this app a go, having been quite impressed with the CNN one. The NBC app is actually even better - it is a joy to use and has lots of interesting, well-written content. Well done!

Update..... for some reason the first hour of Good morning Joe is now replaced with The 11th hour. This and other problems that are becoming more prevalent have changed my star rating from 3 to 2. What is very annoying when you listen to the news programs. It’s ported through ... Tune in .... while it works it’s hit and miss in its delivery. The commercial breaks can and do cut off the program so you miss what the presenter is saying. The biggest problem is at the weekend. You have the same program repeated 3 times on the trot. Or your listening as I am at the moment to the 11th hour and your cut off and go to the Rachel maddow show which I’ve just listened to an hour ago. This happens on a to frequent basis and really needs fixing.

I’ve explored the app semi thoroughly and there doesn’t seem to be a way to search for articles by title or by custom topic. I’m sure it does a lot of things well, and the ability to watch or listen live is pretty neat, but it seems a wee bit cumbersome to seemingly need to open a web browser, find an article that way, then tap the link to view an article in the app.

The msnbc news now feed has stopped working and this is such a let down
