Nextcloud Notes is a notes editor that syncs with the Notes app (https://github.com/nextcloud/notes/releases) on your server.
Once you have logged in to your server, all notes will be kept in sync between devices and also the web interface. Optionally supports sync on startup.
You can create and delete notes directly on the device. Notes can be organized in categories. Edit as plain text or use markdown for rich formatting. Notes can be copied or exported to other apps or services in several formats.
If you have a sync client (optional) installed on your desktop computer all notes will be there too, and can be edited with any text editor.

I was sort of hoping it imported from the stock Notes app or had its formatting capabilities (when you copy something from it) but no such luck. It also doesn’t seems to sync on the background, or be very good at syncing if you don’t pause for a min and let the spinner go, as text I had just entered disappeared and got me up to speed from what to expect. One last thing to add to the bad list would be that new notes, if exited, stay there, most other apps would discard them to avoid filling your device with blanks, including the stock app. I’d wish it discerned between OwnCloud and Nextcloud, trivial I know, but still... Now the good: I can get rid of iCloud and that’s I’ll ever need, I’ll teach myself to cope with the shortcomings as long as I don’t have to cope with Apple’s annoyances like forced MFA with only ends up in bricked devices because these idiots only know about phones as factors of authentication it seems. I’m already using Exchange, that also can sync with Notes.app but it was easier finding support for Nextcloud on all platforms.
Do not buy this app! I need a server?
In order to register an account I am supposed to know my server? Can’t register my acconut with only a username and a password? Missleading and complicated registration. Unclear info on the website. Want a full refund!
