Description

Note: Access to a Nextcloud server with the Notes app installed is required to use this app. Visit https://nextcloud.com for more information.
Nextcloud Notes is a notes editor that syncs with the Notes app (https://github.com/nextcloud/notes/releases) on your server.
Once you have logged in to your server, all notes will be kept in sync between devices and also the web interface. Optionally supports sync on startup.
You can create and delete notes directly on the device. Notes can be organized in categories. Edit as plain text or use markdown for rich formatting. Notes can be copied or exported to other apps or services in several formats.
If you have a sync client (optional) installed on your desktop computer all notes will be there too, and can be edited with any text editor.

Why others allow running on mac and Nextcloud don't? It's technically ready to run, they just don't know/want to check that checkbox in Xcode?!?!??

Needs Work

It is nice to be able to sync notes with nextcloud but this app seems to function more as a web wrapper than a native app. It disconnects all the time even if you are in the middle of editing notes. I wouldn’t rely on it but it does allow you to take quick notes which is useful.

Doesn’t work

Kzatu on

I appreciate the developer’s efforts to provide a replacement to Apple’s Notes as it lines up with Nextcloud’s philosophy, but this app doesn’t seem to function. Upon setup it was connected to both my personal and work accounts. I created several personal notes in my personal account. They never appeared on the server. When I switched to my work account, my personal notes were still showing. It’s not a good feeling when you don’t know where your notes are uploading to.

Cannot sync many notes

whipstarr on

United States

I have about 5k notes in my Nextcloud. App has problem downloading them upon a first try. Most of the time download does not complete. And list of notes on the app is empty. I can add new notes though through the app and new notes sync with server. One out of a few times upon re-entering the credentials app will download all the notes. However subsequent note refresh (sync) operations fail too often.

I have thousands of notes in the Nextcloud but this app only displays a few.

Just broken

Don’t waste time. It doesn’t work.

Complete Junk - Useless - Will not sync

This doesn’t send notes made on mobile back to the server. This makes it completely useless.

NOT v26 ready despite latest update claim

JustTheAppPlease on

United States

This app used to work pretty well as a bare bones app for nextcloud notes up to nextCloud v25 but for server v26 it’s pretty broken. The app constantly disconnects when you switch to another app and refuses to reconnect to the note you were just editing, which leaves you to completely reboot the app every edit. Instead of natively editing the note through the app it brings up the web interface for note editing which is slow and does not properly fit the phone screen. The app constantly goes out of sync with the notes on the server and presents you with an unreadable interface to select which version of the note is up to date. You no longer can switch between markdown and preview mode when editing a document even though it’s saving everything in markdown. All in all just needs way more polished to be used with a v26 nextcloud server.

Meh

idielots on

Like a lot of Nextcloud’s offerings, it is pretty sub par. While they’re focusing on AI buzz words their core, and actually useful features languish. This app has a lot of potential. It’s a shame their leadership is chasing sparkly shiny things and not making their existing product good. I had a bear of a time just signing into my server

I can only edit in offline mode?

rdschouw on

United States

This app is not ready to be published. It doesn’t work properly. It sees my notes but I can only view and edit in offline mode. I don’t understand why this app is published. It feels like an alpha quality software.
