I like it so much. Excellent for task and large projects control. Would be great to have remainders.

Love this - it keeps my brain clear - perfect for GTD’ers!

I am so happy I found this app. It is super intuitive - especially if you know GTD - so gettign started is quick. I love the focus areas for setting up my daily plan. I have been in joy - ever since I found it. It is aptly named - Nirvana.

Best GTD App

This is the ONLY app I know of that implements GTD properly. I like to have a Project for things that have multiple steps (even if they’re somewhat basic). You might be saying “well don’t all the other apps do that?”, and yes, but they DON’T do this next part. When you have a project in Nirvana, with a bunch of tasks inside the project, you can set it to where it ONLY shows the next task for that project in the “Next” section. —-Example:—- Project Name: Sell Asus Laptop Task 1 - Take Pictures of Device. Task 2 - Re-Image device. Task 3 - Box up device. Task 4 - List on EBay. —————— Now in “Next” view I’ll only see “Take Pictures of Device.” With “Sell Asus Laptop” in blue text letting me know the project it’s assigned to. And when you complete that task, the next one from that project instantly pops up to show you the next step. I have used Things 3, TickTick, Todoist, Meister Task, Trello, Amazing Marvin, Any.do, and a bunch of others. NONE of them do projects properly IMO. If I have 10 projects, I don’t want to manually go in and check on each one to see what the next step is. I also don’t want to see all the tasks each time I’m working on the project. That’s why I plan it up front so I don’t have to keep checking on it or worry about me missing a step because I forgot to check “that project”. Good job guys, I paid the full price about 6 years ago, but just recently started using it again due needing GTD again. I hope it continues to develop and improve.

Great app; needs bug fixes (will update review if it improves)

If you are a GTD enthusiast you will no-doubt love the beautiful design and simplicity of this app. It is the most GTD-friendly to-do app I have found (and I have tried A LOT of apps). Unfortunately within the last few months it has become unusable. It no longer accurately syncs and updates when I mark something as “done” or deleted after I close the app and open it again. It is inconsistent and not always the same items that “come back” being done/deleted. Needless to say, this is very frustrating. I upgraded to the paid version since I enjoy the app so much but sadly the issue has not resolved. I have tried upgrading my phone, I have uninstalled/reinstalled, reset the app, tried different devices, turned off/on sync, stopped using sync altogether, and the problem remains despite all of these remedies. If developers fix this critical issue I will come back and update this review. Thanks!

Sync

App follows GTD very well, really loved it when I first started using from the web. Downloaded the app on both phone and tablet, love the interface. Though - I have a solution that works for me that I can use on my PC at work, Mac at home and iOS devices. Then tried to sync. And tried to sync. And tried to sync…. Have to completely close out of the app to get it to sync. Then do the same on the other. Very sad because I really wanted this to work. At least found out while still using the free version.

Clean GTD app lacking a few crucial functions

LeGing_ on

United States

In terms of clean look and GTD features, I loved Nirvana initially and paid $50 for a lifetime membership. I also love and use the Focus feature everyday. However I failed to realize a few downfalls prior to buying and despite much time investment building up my system in Nirvana, I’m considering switching apps. Most importantly, there is no collaborative feature, so I cannot have joint projects or share tasks with my partner, which is very disappointing and I have to use multiple clunkier and less effective apps, which is wearing on us. Though push notifications were apparently added finally as a feature after years of user complaints, I have yet to witness this to work on any of my devices despite updating, scouring settings, etc. There are a few other design flaws that seem they could be easily addressed and have been requested by users to no avail - I unfortunately get the impression that the Nirvana team is neither responsive nor quick to adapt to user feedback.

Love the app but there’s one major issue

Infomertabs on

United States

Love the app but not being able to backup reference lists and reference items is a major issue. If that’s fixed, I will be able to fully rely on this app for my planning needs. I reported this to support probably a year ago but they haven’t fixed the issue. If you look at some other reviews, losing data can be painful. So, not having proper export for backups is a major dealbreaker even though I purchased the lifetime package.

Thank you! 🎉🎉🎉

I have been looking for a GTD app to help me to implement this work flow. I appreciate the recent updates and streamline interface to keep it clean and simple. Great user instructions with videos. A great partner with the GTD book.

Font size is too small

Gampapa3 on

United States

I would love this app if it was easier to read. The font size is so small it’s ridiculous. I would go premium if they could make the font size bigger. There’s plenty of empty space on the page. Give us the option to make the font bigger.
