How much does Nkoda cost?
Nkoda has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is 109.99 $.
I have been paying for several years. The latest update freezes on the getting started manual, does not recognize my login credentials and yet I still got billed almost $100 for the privilege. The two app system was clutzy but operationsl and I can’t believe I was autobilled fir this dysfunctional mess.
Incredibly frustrating
I downloaded this a week ago because I was looking for a specific piece. I downloaded the app, signed up for the 7-day free trial, and then the nightmare began. Not a single time did the app load properly; it would ask me to log in again and again and again, just looping me around. I kept getting a pop-up suggestion to contact customer service - that, of course, just opens a new blank bubble that just loads endlessly until I force-shut down the app.
I finally managed to log into my account TODAY (day 6!!), only to find out (on the website, not through the app), that the piece that’s advertised as available actually ISN’T available in my region.
Now the app has thrown me off again, and I can’t log in, I can’t end my subscription, I can’t contact customer service, this just screams scam and I don’t know how to get out of it…
App non functional (apple)
Signed up for the free trial through the app store, then made an account. The app would sign me out when I tried to confirm my subscription and would not recognize me as having an account when it did recognized my subscription. Furthermore I could not properly search the library and the app would freeze after a few characters were entered. This ipad is 2 years old and is on the latest OS. Completely unacceptable, unusable app development.
DO NOT SUBSCRIBE FOR FREE TRIAL
I subscribed for free trial but COULD NOT CANCEL THE SUBSCRIPTION AND GOT BILLED !
I want to cancel my subscription but the website did not work. I followed the instruction in FAQs but the website just froze when i chose to log in with google account. I contacted nkoda but DID NOT receive any replies for days.
So important for our communities
In this difficult time of need, it is warming to have a resource that is there for our hard hit musical community.
High quality service
Good stuff
Great library! NOT Functional OFFLINE!
I am a musician by profession and I downloaded the app today on my iPad Pro to take advantage of the free trial. So far, I’m impressed by the sheer amount of music available from reputable publishers!
The page turn Bluetooth function works fine. The Apple Pencil is okay for annotation, although I very much prefer forScore since it’s smoother and more comprehensive with features.
What I don’t like is the fact that you cannot access the app if it’s not connected to WiFi / Data (Airplane Mode). When you open the app, it stays on the nkoda brand logo without loading the library afterwards! Even after I downloaded scores for offline use, it doesn’t allow me to access the app - definitely not functional in a professional setting! It’s only available for use if WiFi / Data is on. Furthermore, the load time to open scores is incredible slow! It pales in comparison to forScore!
I prefer to have access to all the functions when it is offline (hence the reason I love forScore, which I’ve used even in full Handel’s Messiah rehearsals and performances). There’s no reason why musicians need to connect to the internet during practice times, rehearsals, and performances. It’s counter-intuitive and a waste of time and energy!
This app has a long way to go. Again, great library but functionality is sub par at best. I would gladly pay $10/month if these were resolved, otherwise, I’m more than happy to continue to access IMSLP for public domain works and purchase music upfront. It’s much simpler and a lot less hassle!
Discover something new all the time
I read recently that Daniel Ek discovers 30 new artists a week through Spotify. Well, something similar could be said of nkoda. Composers I never even knew existed pop up on the homepage and some of their music is quite extraordinary. Opened my ears a whole new world of sound, and gratefully so.
Diverse
Got in a bit of a hump when it kept telling me to restore my subscription, but apparently I was just using the wrong login details... I'm in now and love exploring the range of music on offer.
Loving nkoda!
It's an exciting challenge learning to play piano aged 64, but this is just the right tool to do it with.
