Norton Family provides tools that teach safe, smart, and healthy online habits. It also provides insights that help you foster a healthy online/offline balance for your children and their devices.

At home, attending school, or on the go, Norton Family helps keep children focused on what’s most important.

Norton Family empowers parents to keep track of their child’s online behavior.

• Monitor the sites and content your child views
Make the Web safer for your kids to explore — by keeping you informed of which sites your kids are visiting, and letting you block potentially harmful and inappropriate sites.‡

Norton Family also provides insights into the search terms and videos (3) that interest your kids and flags unsafe behavior so you can discuss online safety, as a family.‡

• Set limits on your child’s internet access
Help your kids balance time spent online by scheduling screen time limits for their device usage.‡ This can helps you focus your child on schoolwork and avoid online distractions while remote learning or at bedtime.‡

• Stay informed about your child’s physical location
Use geo-location features in the app to track your child’s location (4). Plus, receive alerts if you’re your child arrives in or goes beyond areas of interest established by you, using geo-location tools.

• Access weekly/monthly reports
Get detailed reports on what your kids are doing online, right in your Inbox or on the Parent Portal.‡ You can use these reports to foster dialog with your child about online safety.

Here are some of the Norton Family features parents can use to help protect their child’s online activities.

• School Time
Remote learning requires the internet, so pausing the internet on your child’s device is not an option. Manage content access to relevant categories and websites to help your child maintain focus while school’s in session.

This helps you establish approved boundaries for your child’s physical locations. When turned on, this feature will alert you when your child arrives in or goes beyond the permissible area or location established by you.1,2.

• Web Supervision
Let your kids explore the Web freely, with tools that help you block unsuitable websites while keeping you in the know about which sites they’re visiting.

• Search Supervision
See the words, terms, and phrases your kids are searching for to gain insights into their interests and help protect them from inappropriate content.

Mobile phone Location tracker

junktofunk on

Absolute nonsense My son was at home and at school all day But the tracker has him located in about 25 other various locations How am I suppose to trust this - when all I want to do is know that my 14 year old is safe ? It appears to be working okay on my other child’s phone - so what on Earth is going wrong ??

Bug in the App

Following a trial this was purchased for child’s phone, 3 months later phone became unsupported and app no longer works. No partial refund offered. Waste of money.

Norton Family App

PJB09876 on

Really difficult to use. Frequent glitches. Customer support not forthcoming.

Zero Stars wasn’t an option

Jimborspence on

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve tried to resolve issues with Support - the Bot takes you round in circles. I paid for the subscription weeks ago and it’s not set up properly yet. Apps get wiped off my device and are then made available. I can’t connect to my child’s device. I’m looking for other options

The worst

gorjira2021 on

When my child was doing homework most of his apps including chrome could not been seen or used so I had to delete the app and turn restrictions ever

Clunky

Jon Gotherington on

Functionality in general is clunky and unresponsive. Not intuitive enough. Bugs in logging in procedure for parent. Plus other things….. Needs more uat and bug fixing and on overhaul of the ui

Could be so much better

PupPenny on

Had this for several months and with the Norton name behind it, it should be so much better than it is. The app isn’t intuitive to use and I find tracking is poor. Also my child can turn off location services from their Huawei phone!! I get more help with a well known search engine’s reciprocal link, and that only really works with Wi-Fi nearby.

Lost access to apps

Carley_jade on

Worked well for the first few hours then all of a sudden all my sons apps disappeared and he was extremely upset. I allowed all of his apps when I set it up so no idea why this happened. I had to remove the management from his phone to get them back and even then he had to reorganise them all and put them back in the folders which frustrated him. The main thing I don’t want him accessing is adult websites. So My best bet is to just get something for my wifi to keep him off certain websites.
