I bought this app several years ago, and there were no limitations then, I have not agreed upon limiting my use. It’s so sad that you treat customers that supported you and used the app for 7years, but now you tell me I can’t use the app any more if I don’t buy the subscription ! Greed is what all this is.

Exploitative group behind this app, focuses on using notability as a cash cow rather than let the users be comfortable in medical school, So many recordings failed So many files impossible to open during class past 15 minutes, So many flaws that didnt exist. This is clearly development with tormented and exploited programmers, this is a purely evil organization running this app and i want my money back for the BS ive had to endure. I hate this app and i hope all involved jump off a cliff

Add more colour options for the highlighter for 5 stars. Also make a goodlooking icon. If so 5 stars.

Each time I unlock my iPad, this app is frozen and I have to restart it. Very inconvenient. Please fix it. Good app otherwise.

I already paid full price for the app, I’m not going to pay for subscription now. It’s ridiculous.

But makes for a fantastic interactive advertisement for Goodnotes. With it’s unique notes format and new “feature” of locking you out (in the middle of a lecture perhaps), meaning you cannot study more than half a day a week without your notes locking and it’s format making it impossible to continue where you left off in another app, this app has become the definition of ransomware. This app cannot be trusted and will do everything it is legally allowed to do to make you pay a yearly, potentially significantly incresing, subscription. If this money went to actual feautures instead of UI re-designs and new ways of making the app generate money, then this app would ironically generate more money, but since they haven’t heard of second derivative effects you end up paying for all the leaving customers as well, which means less actual features, more money-grabbing, more customers leaving and thus even higher prices. However since they seem to think a few hours is enough studying per week we can have too high hopes they become wise enough to stop fearfully clenching at the evaporating money anytime soon.

Notability is a great app that is sadly severely limited by a few issues which really makes it hard to recommend. Notetaking is good, and creating notes and organizing them is intuitive and easy to use. However, they recently removed the ability to quickly change between pens, instead forcing you to navigate a clunky menu which slows you down a lot. This is still fine, just slightly annoying. What really hurts the app though is the constans offloading of notes to the cloud. Every time you start the app your notes will be gone for a few minutes while it downloads them from the cloud. Often it will even happen if you close the app down for just a few seconds, forcing you to once again wait to edit the note you were just using. Sometimes this sync also fails, mesning your recent notes are gone. Worst of all is when it completely removes all notes, meaning years of notes will have to be downloaded from scratch which can take hours! There is no way to turn this feature off and it’s infuriating. The only help you will get from the support team is to clear up storage, but even with 10gb free storage on my iPad this happens constantly. This has been a problem for YEARS. Just give us the option to decide if we want the apps to be offloaded or not! As the team does not seem to prioritize this problem, I cannot recommend the app.

App is ok. I think it is getting worse over time with useless feature upgrades and becoming more “buggy”, however to have a 54% price increase in one year makes me wonder how long Notability will keep its current customers.
