Scrolling is stuttery

Scrolling the saved article feed is laggy and drops a ton of frames. I’m on the latest app version on iPhone 15 Pro. Latest iOS.

Best read-it later app

This app is fantastic and the integration options make it incredibly dynamic. Support FOSS!

Omnivore Has Great Potential

I’ve been using Omnivore for a few weeks now after giving up my Readwise Reader subscription. The app has decent features for its age and is stable. There os great integration between other apps which is really nice too. Being open source, there’s lots of opportunities for this app to become great. Consider giving it a try.

SUPER REALISTIC VOICE

I’ve been enjoying Omnivore for months on my phone delving into articles for research and wonderful novels I am a little confused tho how can I use the text to speech on my laptop? I have the extension downloaded and don’t seem to be able to

A stunning read it later app. The new AI voices are as good as many of the audiobook readers on Audible. Very impressive.

Omnivore is an amazing app. I love the idea of self hosting (although the docker compose stack needs improvement) and the Obsidian integration. Please keep up the incredible work and the spirit of open source!

Best RIL App out there, Bar none!

Although the app is in the early stages still, it’s already mature enough for daily & top level use. The developers are very quick to respond to all. Anyone who hasn’t downloaded this yet - go for it! This will be the very best out there when it’s polished. Strength to strength. The quality of this is very high.

Pocket import would really help it take off

Pocket is an absolute mess now, they ruined the app completely. I love the idea of an open source Read it Later tool and I’d hop over in a second, but I have 10 years’ worth of articles I’d need to bring over. Omnivore is quite minimal and doesn’t match Pocket and Instapaper’s features, but it’s new and I hope to see it grow. Hope the developers seize this opportunity to add a Pocket (and instapaper for those users) import tool, because looking at Pocket’s reviews and forum discussions, a lot of people are feeling like I am, and it would be to Omnivore’s benefit.

Too easy to remove (delete)

I’m using Omnivore whilst Pocket gets its act together. It’s a good substitute but has one big flaw for me - it’s too easy to accidentally delete articles. I’ve lost several articles this way. Also, a bulk tag option would be useful. However, if delete is fixed I would consider staying with Omnivore. I was accidentally deleting too many articles, so it’s back to Pocket.

Cross platform? Not so much…

Set up an account on my iPad, and saved many of my open tabs. Then attempted to login on my Linux laptop, but it doesn’t allow me to do so, because my iPad login is a username only, not an email address. Finding support is next to impossible - now lost patience. This app is about to be filed in the big round basket…
