I have tested many video players (such as KMPlayer, VLC, etc.), but this video player "Outplayer" is simply the best, the most outstanding. It has many great advantages that other videos players don't have:
1. I can easily send/receive video files/folders by the "move/copy/paste" action in the Files app (Apple's Files app). Outplayer can even play EXTERNAL FILES that are not imported to it (not in the folder “Outplayer” in the Files app). MX Player cannot do this, it can only receive imported files from the computer, and I cannot see the folder "MX Player" inside the Files app. And I cannot see any other video player that can play external files located in other apps.
2. Inside the player, I can easily browse and watch video files in my organized folders, just like the file manager style. While in VLC Players, all the video files that I organized inside the folders are broken into separate video files in the list of videos to watch, which lead to the waste of my organizing effort.
3. This player can automatically resize the video's displaying area to avoid the iPhone's notch. KMPlayer cannot do this, when I watch some videos (some movie scenes, such as Troy) in KMPlayers, the iPhone's notch hides the displaying area of some videos.
4. I can open video files directly by Outplayer inside the Files app. In the Apple's Files app, when I click a video inside the KMPlayer folder, KMPlayer only plays the video I have recently watched, not the file I want to open from the Files app (maybe it is a temporary bug of KMPlayer). I respect all video players and their developers, but Outplayer remains the best in my mind.
I hope Outplayer can become famous and popular. Thank you for the great player.
Solid yet simple
A great app for your little need, just to watch video files on your iDevices and nothing else. Really hope you can implement some more essential features in future updates
Exactly What I Need!
Love this app it’s simple, there’s no online streaming nonsense tied to it. I can organize my folders how I want and it’s easy to transfer everything to the folder on my iPad.
It would be nice if I could toggle the continuous playback setting by folder so some files will continue while others won’t but I can deal. If this app was available on my Mac then my life would be complete. Please if it’s possible add this to the Mac App Store, I would even pay again if that’s what was necessary to get it there.
Thank you for this app I am very grateful!!
Missing AirPlay
No AirPlay support means this app is a hard pass. Add this feature and this would be a 4-5 star app.
The best alternative video app
I’ve been using VLC for a while now, but I decided to give this one a go, and it does have similar features. The main difference is on this player, you can start PIP on both iPad AND iPhone, VLC cannot. Bravo team!!! Keep up the good work.
Sublime
Great player
Best video file player ever!
I’ve used it for over 5 years and loved every second of it. Video customization is handy and the ability to organize them is a great plus. Whatever I threw at it, it didn’t break a sweat. Highly recommend!
Hands down, the BEST!
Best!
Works great, just missing one feature
This works really great, looks and functions like a native app. The ONE feature I wish it had was sending video to Chromecast. Adding that to the purchase advanced feature would be fantastic.
