Owlet Dream Reviews

Needs some improvement

I love the ability the sock and camera have, it helps me sleep at night with him being in his own room. I really wish there was a change in some features. I’m not sure why but the app has my baby’s age a a whole week older than what he is (yes the correct birthday is entered). I’m not a big fan of how it splits the sleep readings for over night, it personally makes looking back at his status hard to comprehend and I wish the graphing wasn’t laid out the way it is and actually had more information give for a quick glance, especially since the hour timeline isn’t lining up to when the sock is on, which is really odd and annoying. Honestly I was expecting more organized, detailed information layout after knowing how long the Owlet company has been established with providing this information for our babies. My Garmin watch and App provides a more detailed, understandable, and organized sleep history.

This app needs work

App is trash. It glitches, the sensitivity is off so sometimes when there is motion it doesn’t pick it up even though I’ve adjusted the sensitivity. It crashes when you have it open and it closes the app. There have been times where I wake up hearing my baby and my app is completely closed. The app takes forever to load. My WiFi is fine so I don’t understand why it’s slow. I thought I didn’t like Nanit but it was a lot more reliable than this one.

Crashes and but when it works it works

I loved the idea in the beginning when my daughter was a baby and went and bought another one for my son.

App is very buggy / unreliable

I’ve been using the Owlet Dream Sock for several days and it’s been great, but the app makes this thing horrendously difficult to use. Today my app just stopped showing me heart rate and movement, but my wife can see heart rate, O2, and movement just fine on her app. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times to no avail. Truly amazing hardware that is absolutely hogtied by this buggy app. Incredibly disappointing and I will be returning it because of the app.

Leaves a lot to be desired

I frequently get alerts to “check on baby” but everything is secured fine and when I check the app for the exact time the notification/alert came it shows oxygen at 98-100%, heart rate at 110-150, and nothing wrong. On top of that, when I look at the nights overview it will show average oxygen at 91% yet all night long oxygen is at 99-100% with the lowest reading at 97%, so not sure at all how that averages to 91% when it doesn’t dip lower than 97. For what I spent, this app should be waaaaaayyyyy better. For one- improve the daily/nightly statistics drastically. Two- why is there random 10 minute gaps of no coverage (“no data”)?? If it was varying times I would say it’s our fault, but it’s ALWAYS exactly 10 minutes on the dot that is randomly not shown on the chart. Too many issues for $300. This is after 14 weeks of wear so I’ve given it plenty of time. And fyi- I do still like seeing stats, but I just don’t think it’s a fair price for the errors. Current technology has surpassed this greatly and it’s time for Owlet to catch up. **** Upon further reading of reviews, it’s extremely sad that the app is clearly this much of an issue for other moms and they have yet to take it seriously. That says everything. They clearly just don’t care at this point. All the other reviews are accurate and depict other complaints I have as well but didn’t take the time to write. So if you want to know anything else that’s wrong, just read those as well.

App needs work

I love the dream sock and the peace of mind it gives us but this app is the worst. It is constantly not showing me my baby’s stats, loosing connection to the cam, and needing to be completely restarted. It almost never runs smoothly. For how expensive the sock was I expect the app to actually work.

Products disconnecting

KMB1329 on

I bought the camera sock duo and either the camera or sock seems to disconnect from the app. The sock I didn’t have an issue reconnecting but the camera will not show up on my app no matter how many times I try to reconnect it.

App issues

Kassie1345 on

I love the sock and it has helped with my anxiety and PTSD, but the app needs and update or something. Almost every night when we use it, the app either freezes, says to “put on the sock to start session” when the sock has been on for over an hour, and it always says the base is disconnected from the internet, which is weird considering I have good WiFi and it’s the only thing that has issues with it every night. Another thing that I have noticed is that a couple of times during his sleep session, an hour to 2 hours there is no data collected. Why didn’t the sock warn me that it wasn’t working or what if something had happened during the duration? But compared to not having it, I would be suffering so even tho the app sometimes makes my anxiety worse, it also somehow makes it better. Just please fix the app.

A lot of work needed

LeSoleilRoi on

United States

It’s fun to be able to see vital signs for my baby, but I’m not convinced of the accuracy at all. The app says that my baby is oscillating between deep sleep and light sleep every other minute. Clearly work needs to be done on their algorithm. Also in order to update the vitals the app needs to be closed and reopened.
