Not sure if this is true for every medical org that uses this app, but in my area, the major medical group promotes the app…and then they never use it. Makes the app completely worthless. I came to North Carolina from Colorado - UC Health - which has an AMAZING app, fully integrated with their systems - I could email my doctor on it and have a response same day. My lab results were all visible. Meds all listed. My doctors could all read each other’s notes. I could schedule and cancel appts. This app *wants* to be that but will never be if the doctors and admin staff aren’t going to actually engage with their patients that way. Shame really. It’s the 21st century and North Carolina still feels like the 1980’s.
I have My Chart and it is hands down better. I find My Chart easier to navigate and easier to see data.
For returning users, you are better off just starting a whole new account. I had to contact 4 different departments just to login in because this EMBARRASSMENT of an app was not recognizing my information. (which was correct the entire time btw) I ended up getting transferred to an I.T. Department just to hard reset my password. I am still not able to login through the app because it is still not recognizing my newly reseted password. I have to go online through safari just to have a chance at logging in, just to view lab results. By far the WORST APP I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED.
This new patient portal American Family Care uses is just blah. The old one on their website gave explicit information and everything was in one place. The app’s messaging feature is terrible and you cannot view your labs on the app, only the website.
My Dr. Of Neurology uses this to give a portal to give patients important information about their health and he deals with the brain. Spent 15 hours trying to get information. Im recommending he change his portal.
So far the app has been pretty good, but there is a flaw. The app doesn’t allow you to upload an attachment to your message. The only way around this is to go to the patient portal using your web browser. Please update this and I might give 5 stars.
I thought the app was supposed to be helpful guess i was wrong the app itself needs a major update can’t do the bare minimum but shout out to everyone who made it past the login portion i sure wasn’t able to!
The only way to read messages is to hit reply. If you send a message and then go to sent messages you cannot see what you read or who you sent it to. Just a simple thing like messaging is difficult. If you go to Patient Portal on a PC it works great. Translation to iPad is terrible. If I am on travel it is pretty much useless.
Why can’t I print out my data?
