I purchased this on 23/11/24 and have an iPhone 16 pro so the photos taken are of really excellent quality and are taken in Raw format. I took several photos some of which have details I wish to erase. But as soon as I retrieve them from “My Photos” a message appears which states (in so many words)that this app does not accept this format and that it can’t deal with this high definition so the pic will be changed to a much lower definition. Given that this app is supposed to be the Editor’s Choice and is designed to be for iPhones and iPads I find this totally unacceptable. Incidentally I did try to select an area I wanted to erase but a) it was very hard to select as I had to paint a mask over all of it, but after I had done that there was no option to actually do anything with the area selected and no option to “Undo”. So all in all a Terrible app.🤯
I’ve used Pixelmator for many years in conjunction with Procreate for a variety of professional and personal projects. I opened it the other day to do some selection work only to find that the selection tools had entirely disappeared, thus rendering the app more or less useless! I’m hoping that this is an oversight that will quickly be remedied.
Brilliant app hard to find any fault with it. Maybe a dark app icon and then perfect
Where is the dark mode icon?
Hi the app keeps crashing on my iPad 😬
Having tried most of the big (and many small) photo editors and graphics creation apps for IOS, I keep coming back to this one. Mainly because it works in a way that seems largely intuitive to me. It isn’t overly complex, yet has enough versatility to cover most standard and some more specialised tasks. What I would LOVE to see added are the kind of graduated shaped and adjustable fades as seen in Xara Designer. For example,an elliptical fade that can be manually adjusted, revised and positioned at will.
All previous issues seem to be fixed, but I have noticed one thing. Why when all layers are hidden in the pxm file the file size about 549kb, but if the group is visible it’s 74.5MB! (All the data is still there when hidden) The above makes zero sense 🤔 if the layers are visible in the layer list, it inflates the file size quite a lot, but group them and close the layer group some how saves a whole load of MBs 🤔 not as much as hiding the group. Maybe you can look into it as my folder is getting quite large now due to the above, so I have started hiding all layers so files only take up KB instead of MBs. It’s a strange thing 😂 Update: 2.8.5 Save issue still there 😬 will send it to the support email. When it happened the share menu stop showing the share sheet, so I can’t share anything and if I back out of the editor it’s the spinning wheel of death 🙈 Also realised you can adjust the canvas, it’s under the crop menu. But you can’t just adjust the canvas to how you want, seems to follow some sort of aspect ratio 🤷♂️ Now we just need the following and it’s perfect. 1. Layer bar colour adjustment. (Make dark layers easier to see) 2. Quick rasterise of layers. (Currently need to hide all layers bar the one I want and use share > copy image) 3. Masks, this would be extremely helpful especial on groups. (Right now I need to select the layer I use a mask with the selection tool and delete the area on the layer I want to mask, it’s ok if 1 or 2 layers, but I have a few 😂 so masking groups would be great) Also not sure if this is intended, but when importing from PSD (exported to psd, copied layers over from other psd I exported) the shapes no longer let me adjust there radius, even though they still act like shapes. (Not converted to pixels) Also love the fact we can use Photoshop to modify the files, makes coping large amount of layers extra my simple, so very big thank you for this feature. Edit: Update 2.8.4 As of this update I have been having issues with files saving when editing them for a period of time. I will get a spinning loading symbol on screen and it will be there for ever or sometimes a very long time. If it doesn’t save I have to force quit the app and I lost a good few edits each time I have to do it. It’s frustrating to say the least. Also on a positive note, I love the app, just 4 niggles I have with it in its current state….
I used to love this app, but it has become very buggy. The main issue in recent months is that it often fails to save changes. I might do a lot of work on an image, but when I close it the app forgets several of those changes, so I have to reopen it and repeat a lot of the work I had already done. It’s got to the stage where the advantages of the app are outweighed by the time-consuming inconvenience of its unreliability.
Thank god.. no more confusing iCloud file window every time i want to start a new quick edit on something. Thank you! Far better UX
