It is so great to be able to support Critical Role directly. That being said there are a few things that make the app (which is admittedly in its infancy and I imagine will be addressed) a less enjoyable experience than other services. The main issue I have is that it currently lacks the option of watching videos in a MiniPlayer whilst browsing other app. I often draw whilst watching cr and it means I need another screen for references rather than all on my iPad. Another smaller issue is that it would be excellent to be able to change the amount on the time skips, for me 15 seconds is just too long but it might be perfect for someone else. Looking forward to seeing the future of the app though and I trust CR to continue to deliver the best possible quality

It’s a new app and needs to be evaluated as such. It’s a great way to watch Critical Role content, without ads and at a price that’s competitive with Twitch. It would have been nice to have AppleTV compatibility for watching on the TV and CarPlay for listening to CR while driving, but those things may come in time. For the moment I’m enjoying what we have.

Easy to use and navigate and a great way to fully support Critical Role

I’ve been waiting for an app like this for a long time. Brings high quality critical role content in an easy to use app with all the functions you need! As a background listener, it runs perfectly without issues. If you are a fan of the show, definitely look into using this app. You’ll need a subscription which is the same cost of a twitch subscription but with extra content!

would love an banner or checkmark-like icon that displays if you already watched a video on beacon though or a “keep watching where you left off” subsection or a bookmark feature

Not much of a podcasting app when you can’t run it as a background app. App turns off every time I lock my screen which is frustrating.

It’s on the menu, but still grayed out for me. Not all of us have broadband. Some of us live in 240p because one bar of “4G” is our only connection to the outside world. Until I can lower resolution I’ve gotta stick to the website version.

Guys. It’s 2024. PiP/background play (for video and audio) is a necessity for a streaming app. At this point, I will not renew my membership unless this is added. This is a breaking feature IMO, and every review mentions this. The content is great, but there also needs to be some way of having an “up next” sort of playlist - not just in this app but in the service as a whole. It’s hard to see what you have played and haven’t, and where you need to pick up from.

I love critical role and I will do anything to support this company but this app so infuriating. It has a great idea but the amount of technical errors as well as times it does not save your progress in a video and makes you start from the beginning. Then when you try to scroll to where you were it auto put you back at the beginning, the app is slow and has alot of issues. It is a great idea but there are way too many problems to make it function on the phone. Watch it on a computer web browser and it’s totally fine, just skip the app for now until they make some necessary changes. Love you Critical Role, this isn’t your fault ❤️
