The Track Precision App is your digital track tool for automatically recording video and Car Data and analysing it afterwards.
The Porsche Track Precision App is available for the following Porsche models in combination with the Sport Chrono Package and Porsche Connect equipment options:
- 991/981 GT vehicles from model year 2015
- 991 II/982 from model year 2017 (from week 45/2016)
- All 992 derivatives
- Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan from model year 2022

Variable use options
With the 'Laptimer' function, you can automatically measure your lap time on the race track and display the real-time deviation or your performance live.
For trips on public roads, the 'Freedrive' function can be used to capture special moments with photos and videos along the route.
Automatic lap time recording
Thanks to precise GPS data, lap times can be automatically recorded.
You can select your desired track from over 300 predefined race tracks worldwide or simply create your own.
Precise Car Data recording
The Porsche Track Precision App is connected with various control units through the Porsche Communication Management system or a special app control unit and records accurate data from the vehicle sensors.
Video analysis
While driving, use your smartphone or the optional Porsche Dashcam to record up to two videos from different angles to analyse later.
Videos are available to view on your smartphone right after your drive – enhanced with useful driving data to improve your performance.
Driving performance analysis
By connecting to the vehicle sensors, the app enables you to analyse additional driving data after your drive, which can be compared with previous drives, allowing you to improve your performance, for example, in relation to the steering angle, braking pressure and the accelerator pedal's position. Videos and driving data can also be exported to your PC for detailed analysis.

Great… but unstable
Used for the first time this weekend. After a first recoding that worked perfectly, next recordings… did not record anything, the lap timer on PCM worked, bit no red or green, no difference versus best lap, no predicted timing, and indeed zero recording. Had to uninstall app and then worked again. Worked again, but one of the recordings (video via iPhone) had the video upside down…
And finally… every time I remove the phone during a break, when reconnecting it says it has detected a nee car (while the car is actually registered in the app, via Porsche ID…
I come from a Garmin Catalyst, by far prefer this app, bit could you please ASAP correct all these bugs? Would appreciate better reliability, love the car and the App! Thank you!
Unstable with PCM5
Need to re/setup at each engine start and request a QR code that pcm5 does not provide. Video orientation is « random » : upside down, 90 degree.,,, and loss of data and or video during trackday run…(GT3 992 2021 & iPhone 12 Pro)

Crashes on the most horrible moments, mid race.
Instead of ik adding new features, I would like you to focus on the stability of the existing ones.
In this state, my expensive sport-chrono pack isn’t worth much…
I have switched to RaceChrono Pro.
