Dear Porsche, this app has so much promise and I have been trying to get it work over the last 3 years. I tried it again today in my 2023 GT4RS with PCM4. It always says bad gps or gps not connected. My car has navigation from the factory and to my understanding the app should be able to use the car’s gps that is much more precise than the phone’s. Can you please allow the app to connect to the car’s gps and not use the phone’s.
This is my 2nd yr using the app on track @Mont Tremblant, here are the inconsistencies i find on my 2021 992S MT with PCM5 ; -Connecting is inconsistent or impossible due to asking to connect to the car’s 5ghz, when forced to connect to 5ghz, CarPlay inactivates and cannot use the app. In the last 2 weeks seems stable, crossing fingers -Before I go on the track I make sure everything is set and working, incl seeing if the GPS is tracking me visually on my PCM-CarPlay-Trackprecision. When I get on the track, I go to my PCM’s Home Screen so I don’t see my lap times, when back after my session, most times no data has been recorded grrrr, frustrating as I’m doing the exact same thing all the time. -The data set is not always smooth, is this because of the sample rate or a bad gps connections? Is there a best place to place my phone for best GPS signal? When it does work it’s pretty good. Lastly, I’m writing here because I don’t know where else I can go for support.
The app used to be good and works with my car most of the time. However starting this year, the app has become completely unusable. First issue is with sampling rate, which become very low so the plots all look like stairs… and with the latest version, the app started to crash as soon as the car starts to move. This problem had not existed before until the new version…
Should really be zero stars because it doesn’t function. Spent two days at Mosport trying to get it to records data. It connected to the car fine and recognized the track but either the app just simply crashed or else it consistently reported “no valid lap” over and over. Just useless. Waste of time.. try something else.
I cannot get this app to work, it’s like it won’t pick up GPS on my phone. I even have a Bluetooth GPS XGPS160 which is supposed to be supported. I really want this to work, help!
How do you connect an external go pro
Works fine recording data but unable to open any recordings afterwards. The app crashes as soon as I click any recordings. I have to export the data to vbo format and open with Circuit Tools.
Worked well while on track. However app crashes when you attempt to export a video. I’m unable to export and this is with latest iPhone.
