Needs an update; I prefer the old app
I like using proton drive as a part of my subscription; the app needs a few improvements however. Despite paying for a service, iOS users still can’t backup photos automatically but Droid users can. I still use the old app on my phone since I can select and upload any number of pictures but this version limits uploads to ten. I also prefer the spacing of folders in the older app; they’re close together and can see more on the screen. The UI is consistent with the computer app, which makes it easier to use.
Very good
But atrociously slow to upload to the drive and to download. You have to dedicate time for large files, which is inconvenient.
still waiting for photo backup feature that was promised
i have not much usage for drive rn with how inconvenient the file transfer process is on ios which is the most accessible platform to me right now so the photo backup was the only thing i really was looking forward to...at least allow me to test the beta version that was allegedly in the works
Unusable since today’s update
I updated the app today and now it’s completely useless. I can’t access my drive space/account at all on my iPhone since.
App has no updates in last 9 months
Hey Proton -- have you given up on this app? No new functionalities in 9 months, and the existing ones are terribly limited. Backup and sync with Photos is essential.
Photos backup
The fact that we cannot backup new photos as we take them or do automatic periodical backups is insane.
Good, but needs more development
I wish a roadmap of the app was posted on the app description. The fact that I can’t see my synced computer folders in the app is really frustrating yet the web version does. Please add this functionality! Otherwise I love Proton!
Good storage
Overall it is a good option as an alternative to crazy greedy corporations like Google. Minor disadvantages are compensated with additional security.
Limited functions
Doesn’t let rotate picture from portrait to landscape view, compresses size without giving option to add uncompressed, says on the website 5 GB free storage, although it’s only 2 GB.
