Yubico Authenticator

You will get locked out and the support at this Yubico is even worse than Apple support

Okay so this may be confusing to explain via text; When plugging in my Yubikey 5 NFC (Firmware version: 5.2.4) into my iPad Pro (12.9-inch - 6th generation) using a USB-Dock/Hub the app will repeatedly crash until the Yubikey is removed. Otherwise the app works perfectly fine on my iPhone via NFC, only issue is with my iPad.

Not sure if I want to buy a 5 series Yubi keys, I already have 2 pieces of Yubi Security NFC keys but though not compatible with this Yubico Authenticator Apps. The Microsoft and Google Authenticator Apps just works as good and simpler to use for 2FA.

Update: 4+ months later and this still isn’t fixed. I raised a support ticket which essentially boiled down to “we can’t reproduce it but other customers reported it too”. I offered to help by providing any additional info needed or trying things, since I obviously can reproduce the issue, but they weren’t interested. Can’t believe I still can’t use my Yubikeys with my phone months later, never buying from these guys again. The app no longer works with the 5C’s NFC and constantly claims “Credential Not Found” instead. Not a good look for a company trying to be at the forefront of 2FA since now I can’t easily access my accounts from my phone. Disappointing, this needs a fix ASAP.

Can you hide the edit and red delete button behind a separate button? they are really distracting and I really want to touch that red button.

This app is good and I have used it for months without problems, but recently it will not find my Yubikey 5 NFC. I have confirmed the protocols are enabled, and it works with websites, but not the app. It may just be on my side, but I think I saw another post with a similar issue. I would like to see a fix soon. Thanks

When attempting to use the same yubikey I’ve been using for years on iPadOS (via external USB C hub) the app is constantly crashing. Hopefully someone escalates this an releases a patch.

Hi, Did you plan to prepare and provide a French-language tutorial to help you understand all the intricacies of setting up your Yubikey. I admit to getting lost at times. I am convinced that this would be useful for many users for whom English is not their native language. (Spanish, German, Arabic…) Planifiez vous préparer et fournir un tutoriel en langue française afin d’aider à comprendre toutes les subtilités des réglages de votre Yubikey. J’avoue m’y perdre par moment. Je suis convaincu que cela serait utile pour bien des utilisateurs pour qui la langue anglaise n’est pas leur langue natale. (espagnol, allemand, arabe…)

The app itself is very nice and functional however, the fact we can’t clone authentication keys is a huge red flag to me, if all my 2FA codes sit on one key then that’s the key I’m taking with me quite literally everywhere. Please, please, please add some way to transfer 2FA codes to other keys.

Any way to shorten (or suppress) “Credentials Successfuly Read” notification? We already get the haptics feedback that the key is read, the notification just lingers for a bit too long.
