Purify: Block Ads and Tracking

Over the last few Months, I was having very annoying problems with pop-up ads on my iPhone, and iPad. I am not referring to the usual ads, when you just click on the X, and it's gone. I am referring to the ads, that you have to close the web site, to get rid of them. So I downloaded the purify app from the App Store, and just like magic, no more problems. The Purify App is excellent, and well worth the fee. Ej. I am still using purify on iPhone & iPad. But the important thing is, that Purify is still a excellent app, and it is getting better and better, which I did not think was possible. It is still worth 5 Stars. Ej.

Super simple app that works perfectly i.e. removes ads whilst browsing on your phone. I’ve yet to encounter any bugs or crashes using the app. I would like to see more functionality rolled out in the future e.g. block websites app banner link to App Store. Hopefully these will come in later releases. In fairness the app is priced cheaply so I guess I can’t expect too much functionality but hey no harm asking. Highly recommended app.

So far having used this app I've seen less ads and experienced a faster page load. I can still see the occasional ad, but nowhere near as many as before installing this app.

This has it all. No ads in Safari. Much improved loading times, less data used every month, my iPhone doesn't get as hot when I'm using the Internet on 3G. Also has a configurable whitelist so you can keep seeing ads on pages you want to support financially. Well worth the money!

Hasn’t worked well for a while now. Useless.

Apparently I don’t have the feature required to activate. Content Blocker doesn’t appear anywhere in the Safari app settings so I’m out $1.99 for nothing. Very disappointing Actually I was able to change the extension setting and turn it on but then remembered I don’t use Safari so I really can’t fairly rate Purify

Not so sure

I’m a little surprised Apple never acquired this, because Purify fulfills the Apple promise “it just works”. The exception to that being, it doesn’t seem to apply to in-app browsing outside of the Safari app proper. It would be nice if it did that, too, but I don’t know if that’s even possible. (Would love it to work in the Voice Aloud Reader app if it is!)
