PUSH is about building muscle as fast as possible - with science. We achieve this with an algorithm built based strictly on published peer-reviewed research. You don't have to take our word for it, you can tap the referenced articles throughout the app as you use it.
- Our workouts are based on scientific research and your training data over time. You can view exactly how everything works in the app and read the references for yourself.
- PUSH generates a program based on your experience, sleep, gender, stress and time available to train. We fine tune your volume, frequency, rep range and exercise selection based on published research relating to these factors.
- Exercises are selected based on resistance curve and rep range.
- Over time PUSH will periodise and progress your program. We use your data to give you actionable insights including daily undulating periodisation systems. Don’t know what that means? You can read our short form (referenced) articles, or don’t! PUSH manages everything automatically for you anyway to keep you gaining.
- Don’t like an exercise? PUSH will suggest the most similar exercises based on fatigue and resistance curve.

HealthKit Integration
HealthKit integration is used to save your workouts from PUSH to your Health data, which can be viewed from the Health app on your device.
Metabolic rates and bodyweight are read to determine current bulking or cutting status.
SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS
Access to PUSH requires a monthly or annual subscription. New users can have access for the period of the free trial stated on the paywall before committing to a subscription. Users can cancel at any point and not be charged while keeping full access to the app for the remainder of the trial period given.
Payment will be charged to your iTunes account. Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current subscription period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current subscription period. Automatic renewals will cost the same price you were originally charged for the subscription. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase.

Good strength-building app. Interface is clean, focused on function, but without throwing loads of useless features in your face. As a relative novice, it’s definitely helped me build confidence in the gym and learn new exercises. The swap function is amazing when equipment is busy and you need to use something else. Areas to improve: 1. the app could do with an Apple Watch counterpart, as I would appreciate not having to take my phone around with me in the gym. 2. Not sure if it’s a limit with permissions, but the timer function is basically useless. I have to set a separate timer for each rest stage so I am actually alerted when I need to restart. Overall, would recommend the app!

I’ll start by saying that this app is very good at pushing you to progress in your goals. I’d say that’s about the only positive however. You can only generate 1 program at a time. You have to overhaul the generated program if you want to change it. You cannot name your program. Only your ‘days’. The AI generated programs are very limited I.e only full body for a 4 day split. In fact it seems to favour full body over any other split. The database of exercises are very limited. You cannot add secondary muscles to created exercises.

I’ve been going to the gym for 20 years. I know my stuff. I was surprised at how much I get out of this app. It takes all of the tediousness away from a workout plan. Sometimes knowing I had to mess around with spreadsheets and calculations or notepads honestly stopped me going to the gym consistently, now I’m flying. When my trial ended I was more than happy to donate £60 of the money I was going to spend on my girlfriend this Christmas. She can have a boyfriend with abs instead.

Great AI-led Workout App

As the title suggests, the Push app is, overall, a cut above other workout apps that I’ve used, even if I’ve only used it for the trial period so far. But there are some very minor gripes I have with it, albeit minor ones that I don’t think will put me off of paying for the app when my trial ends. Pros: Having progressive overload for each exercise controlled by the app’s AI algorithms is helpful and motivating, even when I haven’t performed well and the AI tells me to re-attempt 😄. The app is uncluttered and easy to use. You can add your own exercise if it isn’t in the exercise library. Showing you which muscles are likely growing or not growing is another clear, visual motivator. Cons: There’s no reps in reserve or RPE option, which for a full-body workout, done up to five days a week, is important for recovery (so I’ve learned). E.g. pushing hard, but not so hard that it affects recovery. It would be cool if there was a tutorial explaining more how the app works, and why it does work the way it does to help you grow muscle 💪 Would also be cool if the man himself, Joe Delaney, did the exercise demonstration vids. The length of the rest timers are controlled by the AI, which not everyone may like. And the timer continues to count upwards after a rest period has counted down, which I guess is a glitch? There’s no option to start a new paragraph in the notes section for each exercise, meaning you have one big block of text, which is difficult to read. I’m not a fan of the down-pointing chevron in the top right corner after you’ve started a workout, quitting that workout. I tapped it once, thinking it would minimise it, but then found out otherwise. But these are minor issues, a lack of a RIR/RPE feature aside, and it’s an app I’ve enjoyed using so far.

Loved this app. For 7 months it was perfect no bugs nothing. Made it really easy to progress. But for the last two weeks unusable app frozen on many setting can’t change weight or exercise everything is frozen. Might cancel my subscription.

Been using for a little over a year now, can’t speak more highly of it. The Annual subscription is a great price for the quality of life it offers. Not to mention the customer service from the team regarding any issues is up there with the best.

Gets rid of the pre workout dilemma trying to make up a plan. Easy to use with example videos with each exercise. Provides in built weight progression which assists with pushing for more gains.

Too many glitches

I’ve had this app since it launched and have used it consistently since then. There are some good things about it - generating new exercises for you, the progressive overload stuff at first. But there has been really limited improvement in the past year - I have issues like: - suggesting a negative weight - suggesting a plateau breaker that triples the weight I can do and suggests more reps - throwing off really random reps and weight combos You also can’t generate a programme to avoid doing certain muscles which you used to be able to (e.g. if you have an injury this is useful). For the annual cost these things become really frustrating and I don’t think I will renew it.
