I enjoy using this app, because it adds the highlights I make in PDFs and epub files to my Readwise library, for forther use in Notion. This is perfect! My only issue with the Reader is that the app freezes after a while, when I use a 4 Mb PDF and make notes, going back and forth between Reader and Drafts (in slide over mode). I don’t know if this is structural, but I hope it will be fixed.
Amazing app but keeps crashing.
I’ve been using Reader by Readwise in the private beta and the speed of improvements is incredible. It only keeps getting better and better. I love the RSS fact that RSS, newsletters, read it later, highlighting / annotations and great export and import options. This app is a must have ! No longer get your news pushed by algorithms but start curating your own news! Kudos to the whole team for their responsiveness and hard work. Keep it going.
I have been using Readwise for 3 years now and tried the private beta of the Reader app over the last few months. I found the Reader app better than anything I expected. It’s a cut above any RSS reader, Read-It-Later app, or other reading apps I tried before - and I tried a lot. The app looks slick, is super responsive, and has a ton of features. Most importantly though, it is clearly built by people who care deeply about reading. For instance, they made the wise decision to separate the read-it-later aspect from the RSS feed aspect to separate signal-to-noise content from all the rest. Then, highlighting is super easy and, of course, integrates seamlessly with Readwise so that all the information can be reviewed regularly. There are also many exciting new features that have never been part of any reading app. For instance, it’s possible to quickly navigate and highlight documents with a keyboard when using Reader on the web. Altogether, this app has been truly transformative for my own reading and is now the centre of my digital reading and knowledge management. I highly recommend it to any avid reader of non-fiction content.
