RingGo: Mobile Car Parking App

The app doesn’t recognize the international prefix +xx or even 00xx so it’s useless for tourists visiting

Lose any hopes if you haven’t a UK SIM card. A bad way to help foreign tourists and a good way to lose payment.

The purpose is the mobile app to pay parking, is that one can manage the actual use and time. So one can select longer time after parking and if leaving earlier, stop the session to be charged honestly. This is not allowed by the app and by the council authorities. So, as I did in all other countries, I select some hours and then coming back much earlier I was astonished not finding the “cancel” or “stop” tag. Only “extend”. So with no car parked I was charged for the full amount

App doesn’t work with non-UK phone numbers!

In order to pay I’m obligated to register and give them email and phone number which needed for verification, and I you’re a tourist and you have phone number not UK, the registration can’t be validated and you can’t pay and they gonna send you a penalty. I don’t understand why all this mess just for a parking! VeryUseless! They should give you the opportunity to pay without giving any information except the plate number of your car!

Non puoi autenticarti se non hai un numero di telefono britannico. Incomprensibile!

L’app necessità di una registrazione che come unico modo di conferma identità, prevede di indicare un codice ottenuto con il ricevimento di un SMS sul cellulare. Peccato che se non si ha un numero di cellulare britannico l’SMS non viene inviato. Quindi l’app che dovrebbe favorire proprio i turisti non funziona… Non sono riuscito a ottenere un’aiuto. Altre app non prevedono un simile sistema, copiate…

Tried to park today by phoning the number. Referred by robot to app. Downloaded app. Tried to register. Informed will be sent text. No text received. Requested another. None received. Requested a third. Told have exceeded daily text allowance. Couldn’t register. Had to leave car park and find another that didn’t require Ringo. Now deleted app.

Just flat out refuses to accept my number plate.

Search for your location, and often (particularly in London), chances are it doesn’t have it! Read the parking machine miles away down the road in the rain and presto, it has it after all…. Surely a simple thing to fix, but they can’t be bothered
