Well I opened a River account on June 7th. It says it takes 24 to 72 hrs to approve your ID and it’s been 11 days. I’ve emailed twice called four times with no response. I have other Bitcoin accounts open and had no problems. Please communicate with your customers.

Don’t waste your time, they’re just going to get you to open an account then send you an email a few months later stating that they are closing your account with no explanation, like what... it’s like they just wanted to steal my information or something I don’t get it but definitely the worst Bitcoin broker I’ve ever seen. I’ve been DCA my Bitcoin since 2018 with another broker and thought I’ll give River a try, but never again, I will continue using my broker. It’s brokers like this that will eventually run with your money. SMDH!!!

A friend of mine recommended River. I opened an account on June 5th then, without any notification locked my account on June 7th. Then, I was notified today (6/9) in email my account was closed. No reason or any justification. Not a good organization to do business

They had no issue taking my money for bitcoin, and then when I attempted to move the funds from the account to a cold storage they closed my account without explanation and won’t contact me. I can no longer access my account or the funds. They’re just gone. Can’t get anyone to contact me either. What a scam.

Like many on Reddit I started using this app and it was great, no issues with verifying my identity and made my first transaction and scheduling recurring weekly buys. I also applied for the ability to send and receive bitcoin on the app. This is when I and other redditors ran into an issue, they will lock your account and eventually refund your money with no explanation other than a canned response. No appeal, no additional documents requested just a complete account closure. If you choose to use this app despite the warning do a few small canary transactions first and see if you can withdraw before putting too much in. Sleazy banks don’t even behave like this.

Terrible app. Called their "support" number and it was some scratchy VOIP service. They make it super easy to execute orders and then literally you wait TWO WEEKS to get your funds or access your BTC. Avoid at all costs, don't buy the hype. Crypto.com and Cash.app are far more legit companies that have real support and clarity behind their policies. Can't believe how many people recommend them, probably they are all receiving affiliate $$.

Why was my account locked by the admin I don’t understand

The River app works well, and River is a Bitcoin only company that I respect.

I am skeptical about all these good reviews after my own experience. They have an ID verification before you can buy bitcoin but all of sudden they require another ID verification if you want to withdraw your bitcoin. The verification for sending bitcoin failed for me surprisingly with the same ID provided. You need to wait another month to *try* to be verified again. And they don’t tell you anything about why the verification will fail. And the ID verification takes more than 3 days as advertised. This is the most untrasparent platform I have ever used and the whole things feel sketchy. Even Coinbase is way better. Stay away!
