While the dsp engine is probably best in class, the app itself is crashing too often, ui is outdated and counterintuitive. Search is a nightmare - sometimes you might just not be able to find a song even if its present on tidal. For this price point it needs to do much better

iOS 15.6, iPhone 12 Pro Max, plenty of storage free. App STILL crashes after 10-15 seconds.

Solve the upside-down portrait mode, 3 years and still can’t solve it?

For the money paid, it’s not acceptable that the app crashes constantly both on iPhone 11 Pro / iPad Pro - with all the updates installed. Also with Wifi performance is inconsistent; In the beginning it’s stuttering but after first seconds, plays without any issues. I think Roon should do a better job if it wants to keep its customer base.

After reading so much about Roon, I’ve decided to give it a shot. While the server installation was a breeze, I am totally disappointed by the Remote app. I can’t really understand how something so popular can look so outdated, like it’s been stuck in 2012 or something. The design language is inconsistent, functionality is all over the place and quite convoluted. The hamburger menu is still a thing - even if all modern iOS apps use a left side swipe as a “back” gesture, Roon Remote insists on opening the menu. While I like Roon’s functionality overall, I don’t think it brings enough over the default bluOS experience to warrant adoption.

Last several months have had big problems with Roon Core on MacMini connecting with Lumin U2 Mini on same network. Often have to turn off private relay and/or reset and reboot local network settings for app. Today my IOS app won’t connect to the MacMini core. Coincidence that today I was charged my annual $150….ugh. Not happy with all of the work required to make it function.

Love the whole ecosystem otherwise. Lifetime license owner. I preach the Church of Roon to all who will listen.

On my latest version of iPad os, every time I click on the three dots details button of a track, it crashes. Happens to all tracks.
