Roon

This app is buggy. It keeps crashing.

Roon has been ridiculously unstable both on my phone and on my computer for quite some time now. The program keeps collapsing again and again for no apparent reason. No number of reinstalls has helped. I’m at my wit’s end.

Every time I open up Roon it’s so slow to connect. Sometimes it won’t open up. I have connected it through my Synology NAS and used an external SSD drive (1TB) to store Roon database files. This is based on what Roon wants it’s subscribers to do if connected on Synology. Yet it’s the same problem connecting from my Apple Phone 12 Pro. What’s the point of subscribing when you cannot get the best service. I won’t renew if this drama continues….

Hi all, my name is Kevin and I ventured into this passion for detailed sound after a few years of collecting watches which was not a healthy hobby if you ask me. As I got to learn about open planar cans from Audeze and DAC’s from Chord, the natural progression was high quality streaming and that’s when I switched from Spotify to Tidal. Then I heard about it... Roon! I went to a few AV shops and enquirer about hardware supporting Roon. Tu I got mixed reviews and so one day as I was at the airport with my Macbook, I decided to download the trial as it was 14days free. Got an MAC mini i7 for my core and I ave not looked back since. I simply love being able to control and stream my music to various setups in my home. Try it, you’ll love it, P.s. this hobby I later realised ,Ames me spent just as much but luckily the only thing limiting my purchases is space to put everything!

Last several months have had big problems with Roon Core on MacMini connecting with Lumin U2 Mini on same network. Often have to turn off private relay and/or reset and reboot local network settings for app. Today my IOS app won’t connect to the MacMini core. Coincidence that today I was charged my annual $150….ugh. Not happy with all of the work required to make it function.

Love the whole ecosystem otherwise. Lifetime license owner. I preach the Church of Roon to all who will listen.

On my latest version of iPad os, every time I click on the three dots details button of a track, it crashes. Happens to all tracks.

1. The Dark Mode icon is not working in iPadOS. 2. Not accessible for non-visual users who need keyboard navigation.

This app works great on my iPhone, but it is a complete failure on the new iPad Pro (11”) do not know why is this happening, how Roon can fix it or if it is an issue of the iPad that apple solves it, it is very frustrating.

I saw that there were discussions in the community last year about the Roon remote app not supporting VoiceOver, and it is still the case today. As a visually impaired person, I feel very frustrated. Roon has deprived me of my right to listen to music. I hope future versions can improve accessibility.
