Description

Whether you're a player that wants to have their notes tightly organized or a GM that needs to manage all their tabletop RPG campaign material, RPG Notebook is an awesome tool that will streamline all that tedious work for you. Here are some great features of the app:

*CAMPAIGNS AND GROUPS: Start creating new RPG campaign straight away or make groups to organize them in. Groups can also be used inside the campaign, so you can have towns, NPCs, etc., stacked together.

*VERSATILE CAMPAIGN ENTRIES: The core component of the app that you will be using the most. They can be built from 6 types of elements (called sections) that you can add, name and arrange as you like: description (a text field), notes (multiple text fields that can be added as memos), checklist, tags (reusable in every campaign), images and links (you can manually link other entries and groups and attach short comments to them).

*TEMPLATES: With endless possibilities of creating different entries, templates are a handy feature that will help you be more efficient. You can save colors, icons and section arrangements for future use.

*HYPERLINKS: All descriptions and notes are automatically checked for matching entry or group names and if any is found, a hyperlink is created. Tapping on it will immediately send you to the corresponding entry/group.

*MAPS: Every campaign has a dedicated section where numerous maps can be added.

*MAP PINS: You can add pins with your chosen colors and icons to mark important places, items, NPCs, etc., that you can freely move around on the map (so if a NPC or player moves to a different location, you can easily relocate them). The pins have their own names and descriptions, so hyperlinks can be created for swift access to additional information.

*JOURNAL: Journal notes will help you keep track of important events and NPCs you've encountered on your journey. Every note has its creation date recorded and can have images added to it (and, of course, hyperlinks work here as well).

*THEMES: 7 unique campaign themes (Cthulhu, Fantasy, Sci-fi, Cyberpunk, Post-apocalyptic, Steampunk and Wuxia) complement many tabletop RPG systems and evoke a more immersive experience. Every theme has a light and dark mode!

*BUILT-IN MATERIAL: With over 4000 icons and 40 colors already added to the app, building your RPG campaign is smooth and easy.

*CUSTOM CONTENT: If the available icons and colors are not enough, you can freely add your own.

*BACKUP: You can create a backup of all your work and store it locally, or export it so it can be shared with other devices.

*EVERYTHING IN YOUR POCKET: No more forgotten or lost notes. You will always be prepared for the next tabletop RPG session or be able to immediately write down ideas that suddenly come to your mind wherever you are! :)

Perfect TTRPG Note Keeping

Jconstar on

I love this app. It’s amazing for my ttrpg games, and I have a hard time taking notes without it. The only thing that I think could make this app better, is the ability to invite or share your notes with other players with the app. I would never need another note keeping app. Despite this single flaw, I do love this app.

Great app for dm’s and players - would be perfect with inventory management

Rayman5908762849575253 on

This has been the most organized I’ve been as a player in a campaign. And I use the sci-fi one for our sci-fi campaign, I was pleasantly surprised to see that was included. I would love an option to add a counter to manage inventory item number for my character, that would make this app absolutely perfect, but it’s so good as is.

Recent Updates Cause Total Crash

Great app for organization!

Ne ne papa on

I’ve been using this app to take notes for multiple campaigns and I love it! It’s so customizable and not expensive and it’s awesome! One suggestion: let us draw on the maps that we upload! It would be so nice to be able to annotate those!

Works but the ads

LynDuck on

This works well for tracking my solo campaign. My complaint is that the type of ads that are shown in the free version are unacceptable. I’ve been shown gambling and p*rn cam site ads. I know money needs to be made but I and people younger than me should not be unwillingly exposed to such content.

Incredibly useful tool

Pastabagel on

This is honestly one of the best GM tools I’ve seen on the AppStore. I love to use this app to organize all of my ideas that I come up with inbetween sessions as a GM. The icons are great and the colors are very customizable!

Not limited to D&D

memrys1 on

I was looking for an app to help with being a game master for the old West End Games Star Wars D6 RPG, which came out years before there was an internet, when everything we did was on paper notebooks. Everything I could find out there was heavily leaning towards D&D or Pathfinder. This app is awesome! All the ways things can link, and the myriad ways you can organize assets like NPCs and maps and towns and continents and worlds and star systems, it’s just very open to working with you and not limiting how you do things. It lets me organize all my assets in a way that makes sense to me, and then I can write up an episode overview that has the links to all the assets I might use so that with a touch of a button, I have the right description for the book shop my characters are entering or the NPC they need to get information from. The developer is also very responsive. Highly recommended!

Simple but could be great

fpsmonster on

The linking of maps is a great start but it always starts zoomed in on the upper left corner. If linking could be made better if when you clicked a link it would zoom into that exact spot on the linked map. Adding more markers for things such as shops and other points of interest would be great along with the option add a scene that isn’t a map. You could also list npcs for those POI’s. Add a NPC section and make it so you can attach them to certain maps.

I LOVE this app

Bob Seely on

RPG Notebook helps me map out plot points, dungeons, towns and more. I love that it’s free and easy to use. I recommend it for anyone running a Role Playing Game.

Awesome app, really helpful but still in beta!

Average funny on

This app is amazing especially for a beta, The app is still has its flaws but so does every app, it’s good for a dm especially if you love organizing.
