This is really bad for an app that wants to charge me 70 euros for a year. Run with Hal does not sync with Apple Watches, Strava, Polar, Fitbit, Suunto, Apple Health / Healthkit, TrainingPeaks, MapMyRun, Runkeeper, Samsung, or other devices or apps.
App has issues
Hal Higdon is my running guru. Reading his books and following his Advanced I training program helped me improve my marathon PR by 30 minutes. The problem with the app is that the training days are all out of order. For example, if you look at the recovery training schedule on Hal’s website, you’ll see that he tells you to wait three days before doing a light jog. But in the app, they would have you believe you should run the very next day! I hope they address this issue because it’s otherwise a very handy app, calculating your recommended pace for a variety of types of training and with inspirational quotes from Hal. I submitted this issue to the developer but never got a respone. If they resolve this issue, it’ll be across the board 5 stars for me. Otherwise, I have to check the schedule before every workout to check what I’m actually supposed to be doing that day.
Great App!
Awesome app for aspiring and seasoned runners.
The message with each run are golden!
Great Motivator
Easy to set up and follow. Giving me the motivation to train for my longer races!
Lame
I’ve used Run Keeper for years, tracking my casual attempt at running. Got serious about doing a half marathon and decided to try this app. Been trying to get a “plan” set up for a few days now and nothing is working. I did two runs with it during my “intro week” and am very disappointed there aren’t any audible alerts, gps mapping, and the workout doesn’t even import to Apple Health. It’s important for me that the runs sync to Apple health because I have other health apps that use that data. Runkeeper does these things great, so now I’m paying them for the half marathon training plan.
Great training app
So far I like it. It does have its restrictions for running on other days (I can’t edit the schedule). But the timer and such are great tools!
Super easy to use
I use to use Hal’s website, but this app is so much easier and so helpful. Very thankful to have found it
Great app !!
I’m getting so much even in the free version. Explanation on the trainings, flexibility to log manually and adaptability depending on our performance. Thinking seriously about getting the paid version.
Just what I need
This app allows me to start off slow and make realistic running goals. Love it!
Favorite Running App
Easy to follow, user friendly running app that’s like having a coach. I’ve tried to find another app in the past but came back to running with Hal.
