I’ll first start out with the good. I appreciate the straightforwardness on the app and the ability to see the country and state the individual is in. I appreciate the ability to talk to the person for free. What I’m disappointed in is that this app witholds you from speaking to people who genuinely want to talk to you. You have to pay premium. Which is 16.99 a week, and the prices go higher monthly and yearly. For unattractive or moderately attractive single Christian women like me. Getting a like is rare. So it’s disappointing when the like comes but you can’t talk to an individual because you have to pay premium. 3 men have sent a like to me out of over 100 likes I’ve sent out. The app only allowed me to talk to one man who is currently not interested in talking at the moment and the other 3 men I can’t talk too, because I have to pay. Again, I think it’s exploitative to bank a “what if” on Christian singles loneliness. I’d understand if we had to pay for extra perks like background checks, social media checks, in person dating set up’s, but to have to pay to talk to people who are interested in you, especially for unattractive and moderately attractive Christian men and women is very disappointing and frustrating. This is the reason I deleted my account on Christian Mingle. Men who wanted to talk to me couldn’t because I had to pay. Please take this into consideration and I appreciate the app.

Im not the most familiar with dating apps, but even I can recognize that paying to see a profile that liked you is a predatory scheme. Hinge lets you see one at a time, sure ok. At least I can see em. But to randomly block off a profile at the app’s whim wastes both the time of the person who liked me and myself.

My location is clearly correct in the app yet 95%of the potential matches are either out of the state or on the other side of the world. It’s a ridiculous app.

Pretty rough app. My BIGGEST: you cannot filter who to swipe on, unless you purchase a premium version. And I mean literally filter THE BASIC, bare minimum. Like AGE & LOCATION. That means as a 20 something old young lady, you’ll have men who are 65 years plus not only having access to viewing your profile, but swiping yes on you and trying to send a message (‘intro’). This app doesn’t make sense without a simple, free filter. You’ll swipe on men not in your state or even country, and not in your appropriate age range.

The people on SALT seem to be of higher quality than the average dating app. SALT is catered to the younger crowd, usually by decades, except strangely if you’re 50 or above you’re all lumped together. I don’t know if I should be offended or find it cute that a 73 year old lady wants to date me. However, since it’s from the UK, I don’t if it’s a cultural thing, but the jokes and sometimes videos presented by the hosts and app are sometimes questionable and borderline sacrilegious. In one video, a commenter asked if they supported “alternative lifestyles,” to which the host commented, “We believe that everyone is on their own journey.” A very telling response…

The very first person I talked to was rude. He started out sweet, but when I made a reply about a comment he made he immediately deleted the chat. Great app but,I’ll pass. Thank you though.

It doesn’t let you edit your Profile how you want it. There’s too many steps.

Salt is a great Christian dating app. Through it chances of finding ur girlfriend, boyfriend or future spouse are very good. I was on Salt for a month or two and went out on one date before matching with my girlfriend. Next month it is our half year anniversary and it’s still going strong with God’s help. I highly recommend Salt if your serious about dating and finding the one that God has for you. If your not serious about dating to find your future spouse or want a seasonal relationship then I don’t recommend you to sign up.

It’s nice that the app is focused on Christian dating but there aren’t very many people on it in my area and it has a few too many options for interests.
