SampleTank 2 for iOS is a professional, fully featured mobile sound and groove workstation that brings the sound, power and features of desktop virtual instruments to your iPad and iPhone — without compromise. It is designed for professional live performance, song composition and puts a comprehensive array of world-class instruments, sounds and patterns right at your fingertips.
SampleTank gives you 8 multitimbral instrument slots that you can easily layer or split. Choose from a comprehensive, expandable sound collection that covers virtually every acoustic and electronic sound imaginable. The included instruments and the new sound engine are derived from the desktop version of SampleTank, IK's flagship workstation, offering you unmatched realism, variety of sound and audio performance. Mind blowing!!!! version 2 simply does the job by far. super sound. this app is now my main app for live gigs. i would definately want sync to midi clock and tap tempo as cc learn!!! please add this ps. i managed clock sync via IAA (with studiomux). however, when i send midi clock e.g. from loopy hd to sampletank2 it does not work, i can only clock sync via IAA only (or i am missing something?). minor problem though. the live mode rocks! now the setup has: 1. sample tank2 (main sound database) 2. loopyHD 3. nlog pro 4. studiomux (IAA and common buffers) 5. imidipatchbay for setlists 6. cantabile performer (for pc software synths and program changes to imidipatchbay setlists) 4 keyboards connected via external powered usb hub on pc and shared to ipad via studiomux. takes a lot of programming but the result is simply great for live!!!! all works without any probs, no hangs, no buffer underuns. Forgot to say. How about ableton link? this would be very handy as sync for lfo bpm and loops. This would be great

I'm an IK Multimedia customer and I love their products. I have to say I expected the sounds of sampletank more realistic and pro. Please, compare it with garage band for iPad. The strings of sampletank are plastic and not realistic. The same with guitars. The pianos are perfect and pro sounding. But the brass and the woodwinds? I expected better sounds from a great company like ik multimedia. They must consider a big-big update with better sounds and not in app purchase for mid and lo sounds!

Finally it works very well with Alesis idock. If you hear distortion in the audio you have to change between A and B in the dock compatibility mode.For me its the best synth for iPad I ever tested before.The samples are very good as in the VST SampleTank plugin.Very good job!!!!

Hopes for New version of sampletank in the future

Hello developers my name is Jonavin I thank you guys for updating sampletank for the ipad on iOS. I have been a yearly user of it and I really liike it but on the other hand I have a question would there be any possibility of you guys making another version of sampletank for the iPad in the future if there is any plans for a sampletank 5? Thanks

This is a high end app with some of the best sounds. Wish devs would invest more time in updates this year and make it Auv3. Would be nice to have all the sounds like i have with the desktop version. Desktop accounts should be allowed to have all the sounds on the mobile version since we invest so much money in this product. Its time to be able to use these sounds in Cubasis and Logic Pro for ipad. Dont throw away this awesome apps updates and expansions. Please!

Why can’t I use ALL of the sound packs for free? Why do I have to pay so much money if I want to purchase other sound packs? Also, it needs more sounds!

Downloaded the Sampletank Pro for $65.. and I didnt get any new sounds added in my app. All the sounds are still greyed out. The company is terrible with support, you can’t even reach anyone to get this issue resolved.

Not usable anymore - abandonware!

IAA(inter-app-audio) has been phased out. You can’t use the sounds in Logic Pro.
