App not working
This app was not working. The photo froze and all I got about any flower was that it was a dicot, which means all the flowers in the world basically. Wow, lousy app.

Drawing from millions of wildlife observations on iNaturalist, Seek shows you lists of commonly recorded insects, birds, plants, amphibians, and more in your area. Scan the environment with the Seek Camera to identify organisms using the tree of life. Add different species to your observations and learn all about them in the process! The more observations you make, the more badges you’ll earn!
This is a great app for families who want to spend more time exploring nature together, and for anyone who wants to learn more about the life all around them.
KID-SAFE
Seek does not require registration and does not collect any user data by default. Some user data will be collected if you choose to sign in with an iNaturalist account, but you must be over 13 or have your parents permission to do so.
Seek will ask permission to turn on location services, but your location is obscured to respect your privacy while still allowing species suggestions from your general area. Your precise location is never stored in the app or sent to iNaturalist unless you sign in to your iNaturalist account and submit your observations.
Our image recognition technology is based on observations submitted to iNaturalist.org and partner sites, and identified by the iNaturalist community.
Seek is part of iNaturalist, a not-for-profit organization. Seek was made by the iNaturalist team with support from the California Academy of Sciences, the National Geographic Society, Our Planet on Netflix, WWF, HHMI Tangled Bank Studios, and Visipedia.

Peu de reconnaissance
Ne fonctionne que très rarement J’ai fait des photos d’abeilles et aucune fois reconnue 🥲 d’autres animaux et pareil !
No backup whatsoever
Been using Seek for well over 3 years. Recently got a new phone, there’s no way to transfer my old data to my new phone. I can understand not wanting to arrange backups for all that data but at least make it available for backup to iCloud ?!
J’adore l’appli
Génial j’adore 😁 Petit bémol, le focus refuse souvent de se faire sur un insecte avec un fond de plante ou une araignée sur sa toile, le focus se fait toujours sur la plante en arrière-plan et donc impossible de reconnaître l’araignée 😅 étant assez arachnophobe, je n’ai pas envie d’aller coller mon objectif contre l’arachnide 😅 ou les insectes sur une vitre SVP faites une gestion du focus en glissant le doigt de bas en haut par exemple De plus : 11 secondes entre le clic sur l’icône et l’ouverture de la caméra, c’est encore trop long 😣 parfois les insectes n’attendent pas sur place pendant 11 secondes ➕ Prise de photo automatique : top Prendre en photo un insecte sur une plante : top Les deux en même temps : pas top La prise de photo automatique m’empêche d’identifier l’insecte et prend directement la plante. Serait-il possible en glissant le doigt de gauche à droite de présélectionner une catégorie pour que l’IA ignore les autres? Exemple : mode insecte, empêche l’identification de plantes, mode mammifère, empêche l’identification des insectes sur le petit mammifère, etc.

Amazing and fun app! Very good at recognising animals, plants, mushrooms etc. And if it does not work, you can even ask the iNature community (need to sign up, though). My kids and I have a lot of fun discovering new species, winning new badges and challenges🎖 Only drawback: the camera drains the battery too fast.

Grand taux de réussite ! Identification très rapide. On augmente sa performance en multipliant les angles de vues.
A mettre au point
La mise au point ne se fait pas lorsqu’on veut centrer sur une fleur par exemple et l’app peine à se focaliser sur une seule plante dans un environnement plus touffu. Mais si ce souci est réglé, cela mérite 5 étoiles
Super application
Je suis surpris par la facilité et la reconnaissance des espèces d’arbres, je n’ai pas encore essayé sur des fleurs, mais je me réjouis d’essayer.
Ne fait pas la mise au point (photo)
Cette application est vraiment une bonne idée mais lorsque j’active l’appareil photo, pas moyen de faire la mise au point sur un insecte par exemple, ou une fleur.. (Iphone 7) ce qui rend son utilisation impossible, une correction serait la bienvenue !
