How much does Shot Lister cost?
Shot Lister has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is 15,540.00 ₸.
Been using the app for years as I have a film production company and we create films nearly monthly. We tell everyone about the app. *sponsor us 😅* Now with the update, super excited and the app support has been so responsive! Look forward to more years with Shotlister.
I've had shot lister since it originally came out
and have been continuously subscribed. The app automatically updated and despite the fact that I've never cancelled my subscription, it keeps popping up a dialog box that tells me that I have to subscribe in order to create more than two projects.
I am subscribed. The new app doesn't seem to function any better than the old despite the new interface and it certainly doesn't have any compelling new features - it just lists three new features that are "coming soon."
I'm not happy about the apparent money grab here and will be using my own custom built app that costs way less than nearly $200/year.
Seriously, Capture One costs less than that and does way more than this app.
Cannot migrate to 5.0! (FIXED)
I have tried on several devices to migrate to the new Shotlister but the app crashes. I have several projects I do not want to lose but it crashes when I try to migrate them. Fix it.
**UPDATED**
Not sure what the issue was but the developers reached out and we got it all working properly. Thank you for the help!
Best app for Shotlisting
Been using for years. Probably won’t ever not use. Love this thing.
Paid Version Does Not Work
As for now, this is my review. I purchased the Pro version of this software because I have several commercial TV projects coming up. Even though I have a valid subscription for 1 year, I cannot access any of the pro features and have lost ALL of the shots (that took forever to create) I created in the software. Every time I attempt to sync via the crew server, I am asked to subscribe (but have a valid subscription until Sept 3, 2024). Trying to contact support has been useless with no response as their only method of support is email (which they may check/respond once per month; unacceptable).
Waste of a good concept
If this app did literally anything it says it does it would be great. Instead, you can pour hours and days into it and it won’t share privileges, won’t allow you to assign crew, is missing basic functions like selecting more than one shot at a time without ridiculous work arounds that take more time than individually copy pasting each one. Oh and do I mention it will randomly just delete your entire project, because if F*****ng will. DO NOT waste your or your crews time with this halfcocked app.
Love this app, but buggy…
I did lose days of work, BUT the customer service did get it back, so good service. Don’t use this app on iOS without exporting a project file to yourself every hour or you might loose everything and have to contact support. This app is great though!
Could almost be useful
Great way to set up and plan for a shoot except for the fact that there’s very limited ways to export it. And those ways email/dropbox only work half the time at best.
Almost Close To Perfection
I’m using Shot Lister for a short film project and it’s exactly what I need for in-hand/mobile duplication of what I have on my PC while using Jungle Software’s Gorilla Scheduling, which doesn’t have an iPad counterpart. Shot Lister helps keep track of all the finer details needed during preproduction. For the price and simplicity of use, it’s better than Studio Binder, Celtex and Filmustage.
Yep, tried them all. Functionally and financially, Shot Lister knocks them out the park. Even better than Gorillas storyboard feature, which beefs about image size when you try to insert pics. Imagine that? on a PC! So, yes, I recommend the average serious filmmaker to use Shot Lister. It only makes sense.
Now, for the needs improvement:
- The app desperately needs a basic, straight up, “File>Save as…” feature. As it stands now, it auto saves in the iPads mystery locations you don’t set. A restored iPad didn’t bring a previous version of my work back once. I would like to be able to pick my save locations and backup locations. This is where you’ll probably suggest the existing “Export” feature….
- The Export feature is a little clunky. Dropbox doesn’t stay linked, though it shows linked. I have to unlink-relink to save things to folders. When you save a current version by exporting, it creates new folders as opposed to overwriting.
- The Import feature is not very good. Remember when I said I lost my work during a restore of the iPad? I attempted to use a CVS file from Gorilla Scheduling and apply it to the CVS file format you guys provide. First, that template is crazy. If I have a lot of scenes, your template is not cut and paste friendly whatsoever. Worst also, just for giggles, I just tried to import your CVS template straight as is. Failed and crashed the app. Same with FDX. I love Shot Lister so much, I’ve been willing to manually type over everything again but dang… come on. Shot list CVS files from Gorilla Scheduling are typical rows of headers straight across and data under each row. Why is shot lister sporting double header sections?
- I know you can go crazy fitting in features and you have to pick the right ones, but if you can have a clear straight import Gorilla Scheduling, it would be perfect.
- Get rid of the Export menu item and go back to basics: File>Import. File>Export with options to browse and find files. That whole “email files to yourself” was cool at your start at version 1… but people are using your app in the field now. Time to con
Incredible App, Rockstar Cust. Service!!
Such a great app. Totally helps you think I’m practical terms for your shoot. Also, I had some trouble with my renewal, but the Shot Lister team walked me through the steps and made sure everything was functioning properly across all my devices. Where are the rest of the developers who take this kind of pride in their work?! A++++
