The app won't let me see comments. I'm a Slate plus member and have contacted the team about a year ago. Fix the glitch!

The app is free to download, however we do display advertisements within the app. Additionally we offer the ability to log in to your existing Slate Plus account or purchase a new Slate Plus account through the in app purchases. Your Slate Plus account can be used on your iOS devices as well as our website. To use your Slate Plus subscription on other devices you must create an account after completing your purchase. You can always create an account at a later time if you choose not to do so initially after your purchase.
With your Slate Plus subscription, you'll receive:
- Unlimited articles in the Slate app.
- An ad-free reading experience in the Slate app.
By creating an optional account you’ll also receive:
- Unlimited articles on slate.com.

Slate Plus Subscription details:
Your account will automatically renew at the end of each month or year depending on your subscription. Payment will be charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to user account settings after purchase. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during active subscription period. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable.

Very poor subscription retention in app
Insanity. Absolute incompetence in subscription verification somewhere in IOS interface. Cannot even link subscription to other apps like Apple Podcasts or Spotify despite various pages saying how easy it is. Makes me scream with frustration.
Love Slate, hate this app
I use this app primarily to listen to podcasts with Slate Plus content and it crashes *constantly*. When it crashes it also forgets your place in the podcast you were listening to. This problem has remained the same for years - and when I’ve emailed Slate to complain they don’t even reply. Honestly in a landscape in which multiple media orgs are clamouring for your subscription $, this useless app and Slate’s apparent indifference is enough to make me cancel my subscription and support another media company instead.
Bait and switch
Took the 2 week free then $39 for one year, $59 thereafter offer. Or so I thought. iTunes signed me up for one free week then $89.99 per year thereafter. Someone should write an expose on this. App seems a bit clunky. Always suggesting I sign in even after repeatedly signing the in.
Not much Slate Plus content
I love Slate. The articles and podcasts are fantastic. However, there doesn't seem to be much extra content for us paying Slate Plus customers. I'm happy to pay so you stay in business, but it would be grand to get more for my money.
Podcast to written word
From Australia I first encountered Slate with the podcast Political Gabfest, a favourite weekly gem. Then Slow Burn, I consider the best ever Podcast, backed by brilliant research. Just new the written word. Slate has the authenticity and fearless independence usually only seen in outstanding public broadcasters.
Love slate but the app needs a lot of work
