It’s a shame that the app-companion to such great hardware is so under developed. My major gripes are: - It’s not possible to name alarms. - every time you change an alarm you need to set the time for it. It assumes that you set an alarm that’s supposed to go off at the same time you edit the alarm. - it doesn’t consider daylight saving settings. A nice to have feature: - Longer than 40 minute keep-warm setting.

Hard to review accurately as there is a hardware and a software component but I will try my best to rate each component separately. Smart Coffee Maker 2nd Gen - Bean grinder has reasonable size so you can do 3-4 brews before having to refill (on 'Weak' setting) - Water tank is too small so it has to be refilled after every brew - Filter is too small so it has to be emptied after every brew - "Keep Warm" feature can only be set between 0-45 minutes. If that's too short for you, tough luck. - Coffee strength when using the bean grinder can only be set to "Weak", "Medium" or "Strong". Weak is still too strong for me but there's nothing I can do about it. Smart Kettle 3rd Gen - Nice design - This is the most useful of their products (which is not much to say) - Works as expected but there are other alternatives out there that provide the same functionality and have an equally nice design without the price premium App - Nice design - Setup is a breeze - Notifications are hit or miss. Sometimes you don't get them at all. This applies to both the coffee maker and kettle. Support - Had to hunt them down to get my products shipped. They claimed it was ready to ship but that the transport company hadn't picked it up yet. This went on for weeks until it finally shipped. Not sure what fixed the issue in the end but I got an email 18 months later (!) asking if my issue had been resolved, followed by an email asking for this review. In summary, you can get the same exact functionality buying a dumb coffee maker + smart plug or a cheaper smart kettle.

App asks for consent to use location services every time it starts. And then every time you go back to home screen in the app. It just doesn’t accept a no. Siri shortcuts? Hahahaha. App just crashes when selecting that option in the menu. To app developers: you failed...miserably! 200+ Mb update? Really??

I bought this kettle a few days ago to ease formula-making in the middle of the night. Setup was fairly easy, even though the naming of some functions in the app are confusing. It boils fast and I love how you can monitor the temperature in real time. It would be good if you can set your own presets, one for formula, one for green tea, one for instant coffee etc when boiling. Should be easy to implement 🤓 All in all, almost a perfect kettle. A few updates to the software and it will be amazing.

If you got one Kettle everything is good. But if you get another or connect a friends kettle you would not get info in notification of which of the kettle is finished. I told this to support for almost 1 year ago and nothing has happend! 😡

Bare in mind that this coffee machine is not a crème de la crème. It’s a good concept however it lacks support from Smarter and updates. I’ve never seen a new feature added to the app and we have been using both the Kettle and coffee machine for years now. When I’ve asked a question I’ve never had it answered. There is a lot of FAQs but it won’t cover all the questions you get for example “how to recalibrate the water lever in the coffee machine”. The app does work and so does asking Google or Siri. The keep warm feature is amazing and being able to open the app and turn the kettle on whilst brushing your teeth saves a lot of time. This is a great product for people who want to save time and or like their technology. The alarm setting never really worked for me, it would be nicer if it linked to your actual alarm and worked. The welcome home feature is cool but would be better if it could be optionally automated so when you get home the kettle turns on. You won’t be dissatisfied/disappointed with these products. Just remember it’s a lot of tech to go wrong and it often does, the kettle must be kept descaled too. Despite all what I’ve said, we still love out smarter products.

I can’t get the app to see the kettle on the base. I’ve followed all the instructions including splitting my WiFi to ensure it’s on a 2.4Ghz connection and setting the channel to 11 or less. I’ve tried reconnecting the kettle multiple times including right on top of the router. The light on the bottom is not flashing so it’s connected. But app thinks the kettle is not on the base. I tried raising a ticket via the app but its immediately been deleted with no response. Will probably return.

The app features are much more convenient than I expected. Can see how much water is in my kettle, set it to boil when I wake up and even via Alexa. I’ve noticed the difference in my teas and coffees by adjusting the temp settings for what’s recommended. Overall a very clean and user friendly app.
